Overview

The Sr. Manufacturing Manager manages and implements activities in the Print head manufacturing production areas to meet all production goals, quality goals, and cost objectives. The position is located onsite in our Lebanon, NH manufacturing facitility.  Plans and prioritizes against production schedules for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift manufacturing operations based on anticipated demand, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Plans, administers and assures production process procedures are in place and followed . This role will coordinate activities, as required, with other Operating groups. Other duties include making budgetary recommendations regarding expenditures and direct/indirect labor. Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas and selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Establishes operational objectives and work plans, and also delegates’ assignments to subordinates. Performs reviews against objectives to determine success of operation. Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect.

COMPLEXITY

Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.

DISCRETION

Erroneous decisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations and may jeopardize overall business activities and company profitability.

INTERACTION

Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship.

SUPERVISION

Manages activities of two or more sections or departments. Exercises supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing. In some instances this manager may have subordinate supervisors.

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Works closely with other functional managers to ensure consistency in resource allocation, policy application, workplace initiatives, and management practices.
  • Creates and publishes metrics and goals to measure and improve quality, productivity, scrap, on-time delivery, repair turn-around time, and expense control.  
  • Educates others on the use of effective troubleshooting techniques, statistical process control, and continuous improvement methodology and encourages the use of these tools to address manufacturing problems.  Implements comprehensive training requirements to certify employees for all production activities. Helps drive the training function to C/I goals.
  • Coordinates the activities of support personnel engaged in manufacturing engineering, material planning, scheduling, quality, and maintenance to ensure that all functions are working together to meet current and future production requirements.
  • Establishes workmanship guidelines for all production personnel.  Ensures compliance to all guidelines, standards, procedures, and work rules.  Communicates performance and conduct expectations and formally assesses performance through timely periodic performance reviews.  Assists employees in developing skills and correcting performance issues.  Makes effective use of the company's disciplinary procedure when required.
  • Responsible for selecting and on-boarding new employees as required by business need. Actively promotes FUJIFILM Dimatix’s safety rules; utilizes Personal Protective Equipment and works to correct safety and environmental hazards.
  • Strongly upholds the company’s goals
  • As applicable, trained in proper handling of chemicals and hazardous waste.
  • May have responsibility for the Equipment Technical Services Team (Maintenance)
  • Performs other activities as assigned.  

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Responsible for Production Supervisors, Leads, Process Technician and Assembly Technicians

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of related experience.
  • 15 or more years of related manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be capable of administering policies in a fair and equitable fashion.
  • Must have strong administrative, budgetary and record-keeping skills.
  • The ability to perform technical manufacturing functions and train as required.
  • Strong computer skills/Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
  • Must contain knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools and practices.
  • Must be able to be trained in proper handling of chemicals and hazardous waste

 

DESIRED:

  • Experience in print head, printer assembly or related area
  • A strong familiarity with tolerancing and statistics
  • Strong technical background in the areas of electromechanical systems and previous experience working within a clean room environment. 
  • An understanding of environmental and OSHA standards
  • Equipment Maintenance and repair practices

  • May be required to use microscopes.
