Salary range for position: $155,000 - $185,000, commensurate with experience.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

 

Software engineer designing and building integrated desktop applications to control automated robotic semiconductor manufacturing systems using VB.NET, C#, SQL Server, MESs, Atlassian Jira/Confluence, etc. Participates in cross-functional linked teams with vendors to design, architect and implement factory automation solutions for a 24/7 fab clean room facility.

 

Knowledge:  Having ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. 

 

Job Complexity:  Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Internal and external contacts often pertain to company plans and objectives.

 

Supervision: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead). Be able to work self-directed. 

 

Experience:  Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a  Master’s degree’ or PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent work experience.

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

  • Develop Factory System solutions for automation primarily using Microsoft .NET
  • Work with internal IT team for setup and maintenance of systems to enable automation
  • Contribute to the testing and implementation of test system applications
  • Help to identify and implement solutions and upgrades to existing solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency, equipment maintainability and quality control
  • Interact with engineers and manufacturing personnel for application requirements
  • Provide maintenance support such as troubleshooting and problem analysis with internal customers
  • Develop training for automation solutions developed
  • Document, test and verify changes related to Factory Systems in an ISO 9001:2015 environment
  • Perform acceptance testing of new software and assure smooth rollout
  • Assure reliable 24/7 operation of integrated factory systems (including occasional off-hours on call support)
  • Cross-train with other team members in applications related to automation

 

  
  

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and minimum 5 years of related professional experience; or Master’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years related experience (designing, coding, and monitoring automation software, including PLCs)
  • Software skills: Primary: VB .NET, C#, SQL. Secondary: Eyelit, XML, C++
  • Tool Experience: Primary: Microsoft Visual Studio or VS Code. Secondary: Azure DevOps.
  • Multi-threading and Task-based Asynchronous Pattern (TAP) programming
  • Gather requirements, effort estimation, design, development, unit testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Outstanding communication and documentation skills
  • Work in and out of a clean room environment involving standing for long periods of time
  • Detail oriented and a desire to make continuous improvements
  • Willing to learn new applications/technologies
  • Assume oversight on an existing code base and make staged releases without the need for initial refactor
  • Must possess ability to write functional code without the assistance of AI

 

DESIRED: 

  • Previous work in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using vendor libraries and conducting hardware I/O commands (robotics)
  • Experience probing the electrical characteristics of silicon wafers
  • MES/ERP integration experience
  • Understanding of data analysis
  • Proficiency in MS Office products
  • AI-forward engineering (but not AI-dependent)

  • Onsite position requires physical interaction with hardware; no fully remote option available
  • May potentially handle hazardous waste in accordance with the safe work practices defined in Hazardous Communication and Hazardous Waste training programs. Initial training is required upon hiring status and every 3 years thereafter. Employees handling hazardous waste will insure that waste containers in their work areas are properly labeled and dated. Employees will ensure that waste containers are closed after transferring waste to them. Report any incidents involving hazardous waste to supervisor.
