Position Overview

The Sr. Associate, Materials Planning primary focus is managing raw materials, work-in -process, establishing and managing the material requirements planning process; managing item/material master data and processes; and working closely with manufacturing and procurement to execute materials planning and purchase order generation.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials, consumables, components, and starting materials for intermediate and finished product manufacturing, aligned with the production plan.
  • Continuously monitor MRP, generate purchase requisitions, and manage orders with suppliers and other facilities as needed.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Procurement, Warehouse Operations and Quality teams to ensure a robust inventory management and material requirement planning program is developed and sustained.
  • Promptly identify, escalate, and resolve material related issues to manage material availability risks.
  • Monitor and report slow moving, expiring and obsolete inventory to formulate a plant for handling and management.
  • Develop, monitor, and report appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)s
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement ideas and plans to reduce waste and increase customer level service.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to meet team and organizational goals.

 

Travel:  Travel required (up to 10%)

 

Education and Professional Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (business management or related field; specialization in Supply Chain management, industrial engineering and/or logistics a plus) with 3+ years of experience; OR associate’s degree with 4+ years of experience in Materials Planning, Procurement, Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing; OR a high school diploma with 6+ years of experience. 
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP certification preferred.

Professional Qualifications:

 

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and other applications.
  • Working knowledge with MRP systems, SAP experience preferred.
  • Shown/Proven ability to influence change management and experience managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience in problem-solving and critical thinking that leads with data, seeks subject matter expertise and is considerate of others point-of-view.
  • Ability to identify areas of opportunity and devise and implement measures to mitigate issues.

Salary and Benefits:

 

$72,000 - $94,000 depending on experience
