Position Overview

We're excited to offer a Process Engineer opportunity at our North Kingstown, RI facility, where we manufacture high-purity chemicals and solvents as part of the semiconductor industry supply chain.

 

The Process Engineer is a key member of the operations and engineering team, responsible for executing small-to-mid scale projects while supporting manufacturing, process improvement, and project quality initiatives. The role operates in a hands-on environment and will work cross-functionally with manufacturing, R&D, quality, and supplies to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production of chemical products.

Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Continuous monitoring of project results to ensure excellent product quality
  • Create lab scale formulation samples for testing, analyze the results, and suggest next steps to cross-functional management team
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing, product management, and key suppliers including troubleshooting, design modification, and other project orientated work
  • Providing problem solving expertise for a wide range of technical problems and various engineering projects
  • Planning and executing projects assigned by the manager
  • Support the manufacturing and engineering review for product exceptions to reduce out of specification and out of control products that result in disposal or rework
  • Determine and improve process capabilities, while working to minimize product costs
  • Lead Management of Change (MOC) activities
  • Participate in product/process transfers through a stage gate process from R&D through manufacturing
  • Participate in customer audits and/or answer customer complaints using an 8D format
  • Provide SPC technical expertise
  • Support and participate in Environmental, Safety and Health and Quality department programs and requirements
  • Lead reviews with suppliers to ensure raw material quality and process requirements are maintained at the highest standard

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related engineering discipline required.

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, chemical processing, or related industrial environment.
  • Experience supporting both process improvement and project-based work.
  • Exposure to product scale-up, process transfer, or manufacturing start-up activities is a plus
  • Experience working in a regulated or high-purity environment (e.g., semiconductor, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with operations, quality, and/or R&D teams
  • Experience with Management of Change (MOC) and process safety practices

Technical Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with process capability, yield improvement, and cost reduction methodologies
  • Ability to interpret and apply engineering data to drive process decisions
  • Understanding of quality systems, including deviation investigation and correction action processes (e.g., 8D).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and execute projects with defined scope and timelines
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
