Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager 1 is responsible for leading cross-functional project teams and driving end-to-end project execution — from initiation and planning through delivery and closure — within a regulated industry environment. This role ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and in full compliance with applicable regulations, quality standards, and organizational policies. Serving as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, this role facilitates transparent communication, manages risks and issues proactively, and aligns cross-functional resources to achieve project objectives. Additionally, this role requires a results-oriented professional who exercises sound judgment, operates with a high degree of autonomy, and demonstrates a sustained commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Job Description

The Senior Project Manager 1 is responsible for leading cross-functional project teams and driving end-to-end project execution — from initiation and planning through delivery and closure — within a regulated industry environment. This role ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and in full compliance with applicable regulations, quality standards, and organizational policies. Serving as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, this role facilitates transparent communication, manages risks and issues proactively, and aligns cross-functional resources to achieve project objectives. Additionally, this role requires a results-oriented professional who exercises sound judgment, operates with a high degree of autonomy, and demonstrates a sustained commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

 

 

What You’ll Do

•Owns end-to-end comprehensive project plans, including detailed timelines, budgets, resource allocations, and milestone schedules across the full project lifecycle
•Leads cross-functional project teams to achieve defined project milestones, deliverables, and success criteria on time and within budget
•Identifies, assesses, documents, and mitigates project risks and issues
•Escalates concerns and proposed solutions to appropriate stakeholders or leadership as necessary to enable timely decisions
•Facilitates effective project meetings, prepares meeting agendas, captures accurate minutes, and tracks open action items through to resolution
•Ensures project compliance with applicable regulations, quality systems, and internal standard operating procedures (SOPs)
•Partners with functional area leads and subject matter experts (SMEs) to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and measurable success criteria at project initiation
•Establishes and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and project metrics while clearly communicating status updates, highlighting risks, accomplishments, and post-project retrospectives to stakeholders and senior leadership driving accountability
•Drives continuous improvement initiatives within the project management function, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and templates
•Supports vendor and contract management activities as required, including coordination with external partners, monitoring of deliverables, and escalation of performance concerns
•Manages competing project priorities across a portfolio of concurrent projects, effectively balancing resources and timelines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
•Contributes to the development and refinement of project management standards, best practices, and governance frameworks across the organization
•Performs other duties, as assigned

 

Knowledge & Skills

 

•Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage complexity and drive clarity across multiple workstreams
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences including senior leadership
•Proficient in project management tools and methodologies, including but not limited to MS Project, Smartsheet, and both Agile and Waterfall frameworks
•Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and reprioritize effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
•Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and developing practical solutions
•Proven ability to influence without direct authority, build consensus, and drive alignment across cross-functional teams and organizational levels
•Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) regulations with a compliance, quality, and safety first mindset

 

Minimum Requirements

 

•Bachelor’s degree in life science, engineering or related field with 8 years of progressive responsibility in project management; or
•Master’s degree in engineering or related field with 6 years of project management experience
•Experience working in a CGMP environment or other highly regulated industry

 

Preffered Requirements

 

•Master’s degree in engineering or related field

•Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
