You’ll drive design assurance for key initiatives, partner closely with Enterprise Architecture, and help build patterns and practices that accelerate delivery with confidence and compliance.

Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a global team of solution architects across cybersecurity, IT, OT, and infrastructure; set priorities, standards, and inclusive ways of working while building succession and diverse talent pipelines.
  • Define and maintain solution architecture principles, patterns, and guardrails aligned to enterprise architecture standards and security frameworks.
  • Provide design assurance for high-impact initiatives, ensuring risks, controls, and regulatory requirements are addressed early in the lifecycle.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture on standards and reference architectures, ensuring clear roles and consistent decision-making.
  • Engage with project and delivery teams to embed security and infrastructure requirements across design, build, and deployment.
  • Review and approve solution architectures for high-risk, high-impact, or regulatory-sensitive initiatives through governance forums (e.g., ARB).
  • Identify and manage architecture-level risks, exceptions, and technical debt; drive documentation and remediation plans.
  • Drive integration between solution architecture, security architecture, and infrastructure engineering to deliver scalable, resilient designs.
  • Develop and maintain reusable patterns, templates, and guidance to accelerate consistent, high-quality delivery.
  • Provide reporting and insights to IS&O leadership on architecture trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity, solution architecture, infrastructure, or related roles; OR
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, solution architecture, infrastructure, or related roles.
  • 6+ years of experience managing, leading, and developing people.
  • Proven experience leading solution architecture teams across multiple domains (e.g., cyber, IT, OT, infrastructure).
  • Strong experience in solution design, architecture governance, zero-trust principles, and delivery integration.
  • Experience working with enterprise architecture and governance models (e.g., Architecture Review Board/ARB).
  • Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and secure architecture practices.
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., life sciences, GxP, ISO 27001) preferred.
  • Proven experience shaping roadmaps and patterns for hybrid/multi-cloud, identity/zero trust, network and data protection, and modern operations/SRE.
  • Experience working in global, cross-functional environments.
  • Any combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background to meet role expectations.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Certifications: TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework), SABSA (Sherwood Applied Business Security Architecture).
  • Experience in biotech/pharma.

Work environment

  • Global role requiring coordination across time zones; occasional off-hours engagement as needed.
