Position Overview

The Manager, Warehouse Operations provides leadership across multiple warehouse facilities, overseeing shipping, receiving, returns, parts repair coordination, and inventory accuracy. This role champions a culture of safety, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and continuous process improvement, while ensuring the warehouse remains organized and presentable for customer tours and audits. This position collaborates closely with the Manager, Transportation & Logistics, aligning priorities and workflows to ensure flawless end-to-end supply chain execution.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Champion a culture of safety by promoting and rigorously enforcing work practices compliant with EHS protocols.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor warehouse supervisors and associates to build a motivated, accountable, and high-performing team.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training programs focused on quality, regulatory compliance, safety, and environmental standards.

 

Operational Management

  • Manage inbound and outbound processes to ensure timely and accurate receiving, shipping, returns handling and inventory accuracy.
  • Allocate labor resources effectively for cycle counting and daily warehouse activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support demo, sales and service activities.
  • Schedule regular maintenance, repairs, and improvements for warehouse facilities and material handling equipment.
  • Maintain service and inspection records for warehouse equipment and safety systems.

 

Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure warehouse teams are trained in, and follow, safety and quality procedures.
  • Ensure overall site safety and compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations, coordinate with the Manager, Transportation and Logistics, for transportation-related compliance.
  • Comply with all applicable U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) medical device regulatory requirements, applicable ISO 13485 standard requirements and all other applicable laws, regulations and standards

 

Process Improvement and Cost Control:

  • Implement, sustain, and champion lean methodologies such as 5S to maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
  • Generate and analyze warehouse KPIs using data to identify areas for continuous improvement and cost control.

 

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with transportation, supply chain, sales operations and service teams to ensure timely resolution of operational issues.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Transportation and Logistics to ensure aligned priorities and provide mutual backup coverage.
  • Act with sense of urgency to support internal and external customers.
  • Perform other operational duties as determined by the needs of the business.

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required, with focus in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in managing warehouse operations and managing supervisors, preferably in regulatory industries such as medical devices or healthcare equipment
  • Strong knowledge of quality, regulatory, and safety standards relevant to warehousing and medical device distribution (CGMP, CFR 21 Part 820, ISO 13485, OSHA, DOT).
  • Proficiency with SAP warehouse modules or similar Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Microsoft applications.
  • Demonstrated problem resolution skills capable of quickly and effectively addressing conflicts and issues.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and continuous improvement methodologies, with commitment to professional development including Lean Six Sigma and OSHA-30 training.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

  • Frequently required to sit, talk, or hear.
  • Frequently use fingers to type and perform fine motor tasks.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Frequently lift up to 30 pounds; Occasionally lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.

 

Travel

  • Occasional (up to 10%) travel may be required based on business need.
