Position Overview

 

We are hiring a Sr. Manager, Operations Finance. The Sr. Manager, Operations Finance will manage the Cost Accounting department in compiling, analyzing, improving and developing conclusions and actionable plans on all matters relating to our standard cost system, including investigating root cause and determining sustainable counter measures through a team-approached problem-solving process. They will have excellent communication skills necessary to explain budget and forecast details to Senior Management, will effectively explain variances against budget, forecast or prior year and manages the activities of the Cost Accounting staff. They will support audit activities to management and regulatory compliance agencies and select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Track performance relative to budgets and forecasts, review actual results and concisely explain variances against budgets and forecasts based on commercial and operating drivers
  • Manage the annual cost roll-up for all sites. Produce certain cost-related schedules, review external inputs and analyze results.
  • Work with the inventory control and shipping teams to manage the annual physical inventory.
  • Manage the cost accounting JE’s for month-end, QTR and YE
  • Ensure compliance with the master data process for new products.
  • Provide costing data as needed by corporate auditing firm and parent
  • Develop, maintain and manage advanced reporting, analytics and dashboards that provide actionable insight into the levers of the business
  • Lead or directly support Operations management with financial, Standard Costand spending trend analyses to prioritize strategic initiatives or investment decisions
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with FP&A, Accounting and Corporate Planning teams to ensure their financial reporting support needs are met
  • Develop team members’ careers and professional development

Required Skills/Education:

  • 4-year college degree required (Accounting degree preferred)
  • (8-10 years of standard cost experience in a complex manufacturing
  • (2) years management experience required.
  • General Accounting and/or FP&A experience preferred.
  • Accounting firm experiences are preferred. ERP experience a must. SAP experience preferred
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Expert Excel skills
  • History of building functional dashboards
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and reps and resolve issues in a professional manner.

Salary and Benefits:

  • For California, the base salary range for this position is $104,313- $147,624. Compensation for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience, location, etc.).
