Position Overview

Lead the cross-functional One Cell Therapy marketing efforts to best position the combined cell-therapy CDMO offering for FCDI (Madison, WI) and FUJIFILM Biotechnologies (FLBC), (Thousand Oaks, CA) to the market. Contribute significantly to develop and execute the FCDI's iPSC-focused offer vision and strategic market positioning across our portfolio. Lead a small team of marketing support functions.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  1. Strengthen and drive One Cell Therapy marketing capabilities with leadership across the service and offer definition and market positioning. 
  2. Strategic Marketing Activities:
    • Own the Marketing Plan, and its annual refresh (in alignment with the Strategic Plan).
    • Own the Marketing Plan execution, incl targeted conference schedule and the development of customer-facing tools such as pitch decks, FAQs, playbooks, and annual editorial calendar to strengthen FCDI’s expert voice in the market etc.
    • Establish, manage, and ensure a network of outside collaborators to ensure the delivery of marketing materials and external facing activities as required. 
  3. Product Strategy:
    • Establish process to capture market intelligence insights and build strategic marketing tool to support product life cycle management in collaboration with market intelligence teams
    • Build process to enable product management team to build relevant business cases, deliver succinct and accurate product and offer requirements based on market needs and voice of customer.
    • Refine product pricing approach based on market positioning and sales and profit targets.
  4. Collaboration
    • With Product Management and Custom BD team, refresh and implement iPSC Go-To-Market strategies linking products and services
    • With Product Management team, develop a launch excellence roadmap with the goal of shortening the time to revenue for new iCell products
    • Support the Sales Teams to increase revenue growth and market share, including the
    • Coordinate with internal and group partners around messaging, branding, and promotion strategies.
    • Engage with Finance to develop appropriate business case templates and processes to guide new product development.
    • Collaboratively engage with partners across Fujifilm Life Sciences’ Marketing and Communications teams to leverage synergies and strengthen partnerships across the network.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological science or similar field plus at least nine (9) or more years of marketing experience in the CDMO industry with a focus on cell and gene therapy products and services; or Master’s degree plus at least seven (7) years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Ideally, product management experience in the life science tools space.
  • Results-oriented with excellent communication skills, business acumen, and strategic perspective focusing on market expansion and strategic positioning.
  • Strong market experience in cell therapy services.
  • Ability to think strategically and to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills; able to build and maintain relationships with individuals and teams, and coach team members to deliver externally facing messaging.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct multiple large complex projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, develop action plans, and solve problems.
  • Confident leadership skills within cross functional teams and a global mindset; a demonstrated leader through influence.
  • On-site presence in Madison, WI, or Thousand Oaks, CA, at least once/month, with additional time spent at FUJIFILM Biosciences in Santa Ana, CA, as needed.
  • Travel 25%, including occasional international travel.
