We are hiring a Intern- R&D Analytical Research and Development. The Intern- R&D Analytical Research and Development will be responsible learn and execute essential biochemical assays and participate in functioning of an Analytical laboratory.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Key activities / Project activities
    • Execution of Biochemical and Electrophoresis techniques.
    • Perform routine immunological assays like Western Blotting and ELISA
    • Assist and execute sample preparation associated with molecular, biochemical and cell biology assays.
    • Participate in group discussions, prepare scientific reports associated with laboratory work.
    • Demonstrate willingness to receive instruction and execute techniques as per Standard Operating Procedure(s). Should be self- motivated to learn and pursue a career in science.
    • Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
    • Demonstrate good work ethic, be punctual and flexible towards execution of tasks, as and when they arise. 
  • Learning objectives:
    • Develop a good understanding of current Good Documentation Practices (cGDP)
    • Understand the functioning of Analytical R&D group and its liaison with Quality Control team.
    • Understand the ICH guidelines governing the development and validation of Analytical methods. 
  • Deliverables
    • Proper documentation of laboratory procedures followed in assigned laboratory notebook or electronic notebook.
    • Execution of biochemical and biophysical experiments; analyses of data and proper documentation of data.
    • Participation in at least 2 method development and 2 analytical testing projects. 
  • The candidate will be expected to present the work performed during Internship in the form of an oral presentation (accompanied by a slide deck), detailing the scope of the project(s) undertaken, work completed, key findings and future step/ recommendations. 

Required Skills/Education:

  • Must be at least a 2nd year bachelors degree student and a returning student after the summer.
  • Hands-on experience with SDS-PAGE and Western Blotting necessary.
  • Experience with quantifying proteins using biochemical techniques is necessary.
  • Experience with laboratory tasks like preparing buffers and routine reagents is necessary.
  • Experience with PCR and ELISA is preferred
  • Should understand protein and antibody structure and function, basic biochemical techniques.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English proficiently. 

Salary and Benefits:

  • The base salary range for this position is $23.00-$25.00 per hour. Compensation for the successful candidate will depend on the level of education in pursuit
