The Role

 

The Process Engineer will lead manufacturing engineering activities for batch-process-based product lines. This role involves full ownership of a product line while contributing to the success of additional lines. This role will oversee all aspects of the product lifecycle, ensuring quality standards for materials are maintained and committed ship dates for finished products are met.

 

Responsibilities include evaluating supplier changes, developing qualification plans for validation, and implementing continuous improvement projects. The position requires interpreting SPC (Statistical Process Control) data, managing material disposition, and applying critical thinking to optimize processes and maintain high-quality output. The Senior Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and ongoing success of assigned product lines, from inception to final production.

Job Description

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Provide hands-on technical support to manufacturing teams to optimize process performance and ensure consistent product quality.
  • Utilize statistical process control techniques to monitor and analyze process data, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, quality, and maintenance departments to troubleshoot process issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop, revise, and implement standard operating procedures and process documentation to enhance manufacturing efficiency and safety.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at boosting plant productivity, reducing costs, and improving product yields.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management, providing clear updates on process status, challenges, and improvement plans.
  • Support new process development and scale-up activities within the plant environment.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to identifying potential process risks and promoting best practices in process safety and quality.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, with at least 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within chemical or process manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical problem-solving efforts, including clearly defining issues, performing structured root cause analysis, and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
  • Advanced experience in statistical process control (SPC) and applying data-driven methods to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining focus on safety, quality, and operational performance.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to translate complex technical data into actionable solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, and other technical teams to resolve process issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and sound judgment when addressing new or evolving technical challenges in a dynamic production environment.
  • Ability to provide engineering guidance and technical support to Manufacturing and QC personnel to facilitate reliable batch processing and process performance.

Operational and Scheduling Expectations

  • Willingness to start work at 7:30 AM to align with manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to provide engineering support outside standard hours when needed, including occasional support to assist with production activities or batch processing.
  • Ability to support limited domestic and international travel as required.
