Position Overview

The IT System Administrator 2 is responsible for supporting, maintaining and optimizing Microsoft server environments and related technologies. This position will have strong trouble shooting skills, experience with system administration, and a solid understanding of Microsoft infrastructure components.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate extensive technical knowledge of required operating system(s) while also demonstrating some technical knowledge related to other operating systems implemented.
  • Perform in areas of design, development, project management or implementation of technology or
  • equipment.
  • Ensure data / media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backup operations.
  • Schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies
  • and procedures.
  • Support media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and
  • retrieval services.
  • Develop and promote standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and
  • hardware solutions.
  • Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance
  • with established standards, policies and configuration guidelines.
  • Research new technologies, products and services.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration
  • database / library of all supporting documentation
  • Provide direction and guidance to Help Desk personnel in the handling and assignment of calls.
  • Develop and promote standard operating procedures.
  • Develop scripts for automating tasks
  • Ensure server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and
  • hardware solutions.

 

Required Skills/Education

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • 4- 6 years of IT experience in Windows Systems Administration, O365, and endpoint security.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to start, execute and complete projects on their own with minimal supervision
  • Must provide concise and clear documentation for all technical projects and follow-up procedures and processes.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Certifications in VMWare / SAN, Linux or Microsoft Windows certification or equivalent knowledge
