We are hiring a Research Scientist. The Research Scientist will conduct research under the direction of a supervisor leading to the development of new or improved products.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Perform cell culture experiments for development of cell biology research, product development, technical product support, and/or process improvements.
  • Works on problems of difficult scope in which analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors
  • Exercises judgment within general defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Performs various common chemical/biological assays, but may develop assays.
  • Performs data analysis and experimental design.
  • Prepares formal reports and presentations.
  • Actively participate in group/project meetings
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications
  • Maintain Good Laboratory Practices, Procedures, and documentation.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment and experimental problems.

Required Skills/Education:

  • Ph.D., M.S., or B.S. in a Biological/Chemical Science or related field required.
  • 2 years or less of industry experience for Ph.D. candidates
  • Qualified M.S. and B.S. candidates should have at least 6 years of industry or academic experience
  • Ability to use professional concepts, company's policies, and procedures to perform a wide range of assigned work and solve complex problems
  • Ability to demonstrate potential for technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent though
  • Advanced knowledge of Cell Culture, Chemistry, and Biochemistry.
  • Advanced knowledge of basic laboratory equipment (scales, pH meters, etc.)
  • Knowledge of commonly used experimental/research concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • General knowledge of computer systems and productivity software.
  • General knowledge of project management.
  • General knowledge of GMP and GLP procedures.
  • Bioreactor knowledge a plus
  • Ability to speak, write and read English fluently.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Salary and Benefits:

  • For California, the base salary range for this position is $ 82,353- $107,363 annually. Compensation for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience, location, etc.).
