Position Overview

The Lead Facility Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and direct oversight of all facility driven maintenance contracts and support processes. This role owns an effective, preventive, and predictive contract vendor support program and execute those duties professionally, using human performance tools, safe work practices, and adherence to procedure use.

Job Description

What You’ll Do

  • Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all aspects of facilities management, including maintenance, repairs, safety, and compliance
  • Supports facility projects, such as renovations or new construction (e.g., provides personal protective equipment (PPE) to vendors)
  • Executes sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact and improve energy efficiency
  • Develops and implements preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment and systems operate efficiently and reliably
  • Manages and provides direction for contract vendors to ensure operational and maintenance protocols are properly executed
  • Escalates deficiencies and major issues to management or necessary stakeholders
  • Develops initial standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies and revises, as needed to support business operations
  • Reviews the facility operational budget and provides recommendations to management for cost saving initiatives, contract improvements, etc.
  • Collaborates with other departments (e.g., Environmental, Health & Safety, Quality, etc.)
  • Designs disaster preparedness plans to minimize risk to people and property in the event of an emergency
  • Mentors and provides guidance to facility coordinators
  • Performs other duties, as assigned

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficient knowledge of computer software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Adobe, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations, including FDA cGMP requirements
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, including automation and controls
  • Ability to influence and mentor others
  • Ability to develop and implement sustainable and disaster preparedness initiatives
  • Proficient technical writing skills
  • Ability to work in an environment where all processes are not fully defined and support their development

Basic Requirement

  • High School Diploma/GED with 12 years of facilities, manufacturing or related experience; or
  • Associate degree in facilities management, maintenance, or related field with 10 years of facilities, manufacturing, or related experience; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, maintenance, or related field with 8 years of facilities, manufacturing, or related experience

Preferred Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, maintenance, GMP, or related field
  • Prior experience working in GMP Facilities
  • Experience with CGMP and FDA requirements
  • Experience developing and managing budgets and capital projects
