Position Overview

The Strategic Sourcing Supervisor reports to the Associate Manager of HLUS Strategic Sourcing and Indirect Purchasing. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing activities related to the Strategic Sourcing procurement functions. Duties require the use of SAP and MS Office programs, effective decision-making, prioritizing assignments, solving problems, and leading cost savings projects. This position oversees contract negotiations for goods and services, ensures best prices are obtained, and makes recommendations to leverage spend opportunities across Fujifilm Group Companies. Supervision is provided to a group of 5+/- employees that includes managing the completion of goals and assignments and performance results.

 

This position is remote but needs to be within a commutable distance to Greenwood, SC area.

Job Description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to the Strategic Sourcing team to ensure the achievement of departmental goals and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the end-to-end bidding process, including development and issuance of bid packages, organizing pre-bid meetings, and conducting thorough bid analyses.
  • Manage sourcing projects via the Ariba Sourcing Module, ensuring timely progress, adherence to deadlines, and successful project execution.
  • Review and approve all project executive summaries cost analyses, and recommendations prior to dissemination to senior management.
  • Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend actionable strategies to optimize spend and supplier performance.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and facilitate meetings to communicate progress and results for the Strategic Sourcing Dept.
  • Monitor agreement expirations and ensure timely renewals.
  • Lead regular supplier performance evaluations and guide the Strategic Sourcing buyers to collaborate with vendors to address issues and strengthen partnerships.
  • Coordinates work schedules to ensure timely and effective completion of daily duties and projects. Ensures coverage during team member absences for continuation of workflow.
  • Oversees system administration for the Purchasing team.
  • Guide and support individual goal setting, performance reviews, and professional development initiatives within the Purchasing team.
  • Promote cross-training within the team to build versatility, responsiveness, and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Assists with contracts as needed.
  • Visit North American HLUS purchasing supported sites as needed for regular performance assessments and goal planning.
  • Drives procurement best practices and standardization across all Fujifilm group companies in procurement.

 

Within 6-9 Months:

  • Coordinate work schedules and ensure team coverage to maintain productivity.
  • Oversee system administration for the Purchasing team.
  • Assist in individual goal development and performance tracking.
  • Manage issuance of bid packages, pre-bid initiatives, and bid analysis.
  • Ensure seamless workflow during team member absences.

 

Within 9-18 Months:

  • Provides leadership and technical guidance to the entire Strategic Sourcing team.
  • Cross-trains the Team members to establish effectiveness and responsiveness.
  • Assists with contracts as needed.

 

Required Skills/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Purchasing/procurement experience, with 5+ years progressive strategic sourcing and/or team leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise with SAP or equivalent ERP purchasing modules.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong project management skills, capable of prioritizing and managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Proven negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills facilitating effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to analyze complex procurement data and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills with well-developed problem-solving capabilities.

 

 

Desired Skills

 

  • Experience with Ariba Sourcing and Spend Analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with indirect purchasing categories and best practices.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements and procurement regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Certification such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CPP (Certified Purchasing Professional) is a plus.
