Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Merchandise Manager, D2C eCommerce responsible for developing and executing digital sales and merchandising strategies that drive revenue growth and profitability with the ownership of the DTC ecommerce photo products website. This role oversees product assortment management, optimization of product pages, and site execution for all merchandising in collaboration with the Product/Content team, as well as performance data analysis. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Senior Merchandiser leads efforts to enhance the online customer experience while managing and mentoring merchandising staff to achieve business objectives.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Site Merchandising & Catalog Management

 

  • Develop merchandising frameworks for website: homepage, category pages, product pages, search, cross-sell/upsell placements and others as needed.
  • Manage end-to-end product catalog setup and ensure data integrity across all touchpoints.
  • Own seasonal merchandising calendars, product launches, and promotional execution aligned with marketing and brand priorities.
  • Own product imagery, including lifecycle graphics; manage designers/photographers for product/category asset readiness.
  • Maintain Adobe Stock library for D2C use (ensuring image rights and approvals are secured).
  • Drive product discoverability and site search optimization in collaboration with SEO and analytics partners.

 

Cross-Functional Leadership:

 

  • Collaborate with Product/Content team on launch readiness and storytelling strategies.
  • Partner with CRM & Lifecycle Marketing Manager to align site experience with lifecycle campaigns and personalization triggers.
  • Partner with DAM (Bynder) and CMS (Frontastic) teams to manage product and merchandising assets across platforms.
  • Manage MarTech admin workflows (e.g., UGC/review content integration) in collaboration with site admin/QA.
  • Work with Finance Analyst and Merchants on pricing, promotional mechanics, and sales forecasting.
  • Bridge business requirements with development teams to translate merchandising needs into technical solutions.

 

Analytics & Optimization

 

  • Track and analyze site KPIs: conversion rate, AOV, bounce rate, search usage, sell-through, and promo ROI.
  • Build dashboards and reporting frameworks in GA4, Looker, and/or Tableau to inform business decisions.
  • Lead ongoing site optimization through A/B testing, merchandising experiments, and consumer journey improvements.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for hiring and training 2 junior team members within the first 12 months of their role.
  • Provide clear objectives and work assignments for the team, effectively managing team deliverables.
  • Monitor and track employee performance and provide regular and timely feedback. 
  • Identify training and growth opportunities to advance the individual team member.
  • Accomplish staff job results by coaching, counseling, and mentoring employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; conducting training; implementing enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Review and approve timesheets for contractors (as needed).
  • Recruit and onboard contractors as needed for various projects; whether working with Fujifilm HR or outside placement agencies to find the talent needed for the project.  

 Required Skills/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, eCommerce Management, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in eCommerce site merchandising or digital commerce operations, with direct platform ownership preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with CommerceTools or comparable enterprise eCommerce platforms.
  • Strong understanding of product catalog management, taxonomy, and data governance.
  • Experience integrating MarTech solutions from discovery to execution.
  • Familiarity with QA/UAT workflows and leading site testing cycles.
  • Proficiency with site analytics tools (GA4, Looker, Tableau, etc.) to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with marketing, product, finance, and technology teams.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment with evolving priorities.

Desired Skills

  • Working knowledge of SEO, onsite search optimization, and conversion rate best practices.
  • Experience with asset management workflows across DAM (Bynder) and CMS (Frontastic).
  • Familiarity with UGC/reviews platforms (e.g., Yotpo, Bazaarvoice) and integration into product/catalog workflows.
  • Experience mentoring or managing merchandising staff or contractors.
  • Passion for understanding consumer behavior and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
