The position(s) in this role will be remote and strategically located near biotech or pharmaceutical hubs across the globe. This position is required for the West Coast.

The Business Development Director will be responsible for business development activities and to identify, manage the initial qualification, and close through the signing of contracts for new business, concentrating on Biologics. The position(s) in this role will be remote and strategically located near biotech or pharmaceutical hubs across the globe. This position is required for the West Coast.  

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Prospect and secure new CDMO business opportunities for FUJIFILM Biotechnologies 
  • Represent FUJIFILM Biotechnologies Biologics capabilities for organizations within the designated region. 
  • Represent FUJIFILM Biotechnologies at conferences and tradeshows 
  • Develop territory plans with regional trends and business needs
  • Presenting territory plans to executive leadership with a strategic how to win mindset. 
  • Manage scope and contractual negotiations with respective clients. 
  • Keep systems and leadership up to date with customer needs and territory goals. 
  • Collaborate with legal and commercial solution teams to ensure business needs for FUJIFILM are met
  • Partner with Market Intelligence group to track trends and regional needs. 
  • Work closely with sales teams, product teams, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive strategies are executed efficiently 
  • Open communication channels with Demand Planning team to ensure sites clear on pending customer need
  • Partner with Commercial Solutions team to ensure all technical scope and business solutions are supporting customer needs 

 

Skills & Talent Required 

  • Relevant academic degree, with a preference for a Bachelor’s Degree in a science related field is essential
  • Essential experience: 12 years of progressive experience including 5 years+ of experience in business development and with extensive customer contract negotiation experience  
  • Proven experience in managing sales leads through a dynamic sales pipeline to secure new business or retain existing customers
  • Experience within the CDMO industry within a similar position 
  • Advanced ability to write business documents
  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • Advanced presentation skills 

 

 

Scope & Accountability

  • The role will communicate with Demand Planning partners to ensure sites are clear on pending customer needs
  • The role will facilitate partnerships within the global sales peer group and also FUJIFILM companies  
  • The role will align closely with global directors on territory growth and shifts in market dynamics
  • Provide customer feedback to teams to enhance future solutions

The US salary base range for this position is $175,000 to $220,000. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
