Principal Accountabilities and Job Duties:
- Establishes and implements strategies for site openings, ceremonies, and cornerstone events ensuring consistent brand representation
- Assembles and guides ad hoc teams from Communications, Marketing, Corporate Planning to ensure efficient collaboration and execution
- Oversees budgeting, negotiations, and vendor management to align with financial goals.
- Guarantees uniform outputs and high standards by maintaining reliable attendee experiences
- Crafts storylines and materials for presentations to align messaging with brand values
- Analyses event outcomes, collects data, and implements improvements for future events.
- Shares and implements best practices across regions to enhance event quality and reach.
- Establishes relationships with preferred vendors for cost-effective event solutions. Experience managing event agencies, consultants, and vendor contracts globally.
- Frees local resources, allowing site teams to focus on core business operations
- Acts as an input provider for marketing events involving executive leadership
- Managing stakeholders, their expectations, what success looks like from their perspective and managing their expectation against the desired outcome or success criteria. Steering / Internal / External / VIP / Gov officials / Royalty etc.
- Ensure proactive risk assessments, contingency plans, and crisis management protocols for high-visibility or complex events (e.g., VIP visits, site launches). Ensures alignment with Legal, EH&S, and Security
- Define objectives, success metrics, collects stakeholder feedback, and deliver post event report
- All other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, or related fields.
- 8+ years in either consultancy, event project management roles, or project management with communications responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, complex, or regulated events (e.g., site openings, ministerial visits, investor days).
- Experience managing event agencies, consultants, and vendor contracts globally.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Expertise in event planning, negotiation, storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across senior leadership and matrixed teams.
- Ability to lead cross-functional projects without direct authority; comfort in a matrixed environment.
- Familiarity with project management tools
- An ability to deliver the outcome, demonstrating the need to find a way. Leading teams without needing direction instead, work to find a solution.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage through a project using established project management and change management tools and technics. Familiarity with leading using project management tools.
