Position Overview

The responsibilities of the Manager, Systems Engineering will have the full lifecycle of product development. From system architecture, to linking system requirements to customer needs and working to ensure that all aspects of system integration are addressed through verifying that the system implementation fully meets system requirements. This requires working cross functionally across engineering, operations, clinical and marketing to ensure development of a fully FDA compliant system. This role is tasked with ensuring the quality, timeliness, and continuous improvement of the company’s interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to product definition, planning, design, development, integration and verification of products with the focus being developing requirements that address our customers’ needs and verifying that the system implementation meets these requirements with high quality.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Manage the development and implementation of Systems engineering standards, with an emphasis on product system architecture, requirements management, quality system adherence and traceability
  • Drive excellence in all aspects of the system engineering, such as customer requirements, subsystem interactions and interfaces, control theory, and interdisciplinary communication
  • Work with systems engineering and verification team to ensure that appropriate project plans, management operating mechanisms methodologies, standards, and documentation procedures are in place
  • Communicate key company goals and policies to employees and promote good communication
  • Work with systems engineering staff to ensure that appropriate product and technical requirements, design methodologies, standards and documentation procedures are in place.
  • Lead cross-functional, system definition, integration, and verification efforts ensuring that internal and external customer needs are met.
  • Provide direction, mentoring and performance counseling for department staff. Includes ensuring that appropriate training and tools are provided
  • Define overall resource allocation to projects to ensure proper staffing levels, adherence to schedule, quality and budget.
  • Own the simulation strategy for core technologies and guide the technology roadmap to meet the evolving customer requirements.
  • Contribute to development on projects, programs, and products as part of Fujifilm roadmap as well as execution of existing missions
  • Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated, and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
  • Relentlessly and continuously seek out and implement improvements to the organization.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • BS in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 8-10 years experience leading product development project teams involving electronics
  • Extensive experience in product development from conception to release.
  • Experience in management of multiple products and programs simultaneously
  • ISO, FDA, or other regulated industry experience
  • Experience with medical ultrasound imaging is desirable.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to be a self starter; good listening skills
  • Ability to analyze multiple inputs and variables and make decisions
  • Highly skilled in MS Project
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Project, and Excel
  • Experience with DOORS/JAMA requirements management tool.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $125,000.00 - $1600,000.00/yr. depending on experience (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range).
