Position Overview

The Fujifilm Cloud Services Senior Cloud Engineer plays a pivotal role in leading and executing technical projects within Fujifilm Cloud Services environments. This position serves as the technical lead for cloud solutions, ensuring the successful delivery of hosting, disaster recovery, and archiving services. The ideal candidate will manage complex, distributed cloud environments with a focus on Windows Server infrastructure within AWS, maintaining performance, security, availability, and scalability.

 

The Senior Cloud Engineer, Cloud Services provides technical leadership to team members and customers, supports 24/7 data center operations, and contributes to improvements in processes and technologies in alignment with the ITIL4 framework. This role demands strong technical problem-solving skills, the ability to independently implement creative solutions, and strong collaboration across teams while juggling shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as a primary technical leader for Cloud Services related projects, guiding internal and external teams toward successful delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineers and customers while ensuring adherence to change management and operational policies.
  • Lead cross-functional calls, assign tasks, track progress, and ensure effective communication for project tasks and daily operations.
  • Proactively contribute to process improvement initiatives, creating documentation and lessons learned for the team.

AWS Cloud & Windows Server Management

  • Manage and maintain Windows Server EC2 instances in AWS, ensuring systems are highly available, secure, and optimally configured for performance and scalability.
  • Implement AWS architectures to support hosting and disaster recovery needs, leveraging AWS best practices for cost-efficiency and reliability.
  • Monitor and manage security in AWS environments with patch management, IAM policies, encryption, and network security for Windows workloads.
  • Assist in building scalable solutions and automating routine operations using AWS tools and basic scripting (e.g., Python or PowerShell). Gain exposure to and support the use of Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks such as Terraform or CloudFormation under the guidance of senior team members.

Network Management

  • Manage and maintain the networking infrastructure within multiple environments, ensuring reliable connectivity, performance, and security.
  • Support hybrid integrations between AWS cloud environments and the on premise networks by troubleshooting and optimizing network configurations.
  • Monitor, diagnose, and resolve complex network issues to ensure uninterrupted operations of customer applications.

Data Migration and Application Support

  • Assist in executing data migration projects from on-premise systems to AWS environments, ensuring seamless delivery of hosted solutions and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Support the operational needs of web-based applications hosted in cloud environments and contribute to their continuous improvement.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues across the application, system, network, and storage layers.

Backup, Disaster Recovery, and Incident Management

  • Design and implement backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to minimize business disruptions.
  • Take ownership of incident management processes related to multi cloud and data center environments.

Collaboration and On-Call Responsibilities

  • Work closely with DevOps, network, and security teams, acting as a bridge between disciplines to achieve shared objectives.
  • Provide peer reviews of configurations, project plans, and operational reports, ensuring high standards for quality and accuracy.
  • Participate in and support on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 operational reliability.

Qualifications:


Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in managing and operating Windows Server environments, including 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS ecosystems.
  • Proven expertise in cloud-based solutions focusing on Windows Server EC2 instances, disaster recovery, and hosting environments within AWS.
  • Experience leading cloud migration projects from on-premises systems to cloud data centers.
  • In-depth familiarity with system administration tools and topics, including Active Directory, VMWare, and colocation network/storage management.
  • Experience in technical project management and leading cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.
  • Proven ability to deliver results in a remote support or high-pressure IT operational environment.

Certification/Licensure:


• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator- Associate, or equivalent certification

 

Special Skills or Other Job Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of networking and security principles for cloud-hosted solutions.
  • Proven ability to decompose complex operational challenges into clear, actionable solutions.
  • Skilled in automating tasks and optimizing workflows (e.g., scripting in Python or PowerShell, using CI/CD pipelines).
  • Adept at balancing competing priorities, adapting to shifting demands, and managing ambiguity with confidence.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage interactions across teams and to advise stakeholders on key technical matters.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL4 practices with a focus on continual improvement, operational excellence, and process optimization.

Physical requirements:

 

The position requires the ability to perform the following physical demands and/or have the listed capabilities:

  • The ability to sit up 75-100% of applicable work time.
  • The ability to use your hands and fingers to feel and manipulate items, including keyboards, up to 100% of applicable work time.
  • The ability to stand, talk, and hear for 75% of applicable work time.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to ten pounds up to 20% of applicable work time.
  • Close Vision: The ability to see clearly at twenty inches or less.

Travel:

  • Occasional (up to 10%) travel may be required based on business need.
