Position Overview

This position reports to the Maintenance manager. Responsible for performing entry level to complex troubleshooting and repair techniques on manufacturing equipment; electrical/electronic and mechanical systems.  Responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing complex equipment.  Assist in modifications to existing machinery and equipment to facilitate new production techniques and/or improved equipment reliability.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Understands and demonstrates advanced concepts of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance of more than one major process and more than one critical technology. Critical technology is one that is complex, requires several years of learning and hands-on-training. This skill set is utilized with significant results.
  • Ability to solve complex problems where facts are difficult to obtain, and in-depth analysis and theory testing are required. Demonstrates independent use of complex problem-solving tools (e.g. Histograms, cause and effect, check sheets, pareto diagrams, graphs, etc.)
  • Responsible for installing, advanced troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Researches and develops counter-measures and leads in selection and implementation of chosen plan to eliminate impact.
  • Identifies additional opportunities for applying troubleshooting logic and countermeasures outside of the immediate focus area (i.e. failure in one area leads to investigation and implementation in a similar area to improve reliability).
  • Independent decisions are made that reflect a thorough understanding of our MOC philosophy and the impact on the quality of the product. Decisions and actions reflect an understanding of urgency and can distinguish between quick-fix and root cause.
  • Results of problem-solving activities are typically documented and communicated to appropriate audiences.
  • Ability to verbally communicate clear and concise information to all levels within the organization.
  • Leads limited scope capital projects and assumes responsibility for results.
  • Is recognized for setting examples that align with Fujifilm core values. Demeanor and actions support the organizational goals and direction.
  • Leads small group activities to resolve problems.
  • Recognizes technical gaps and proactively pursues self-learning to fulfill the needs.
  • Flexible to work off hours when needed, support emergency maintenance when called and support on-call rotation when scheduled.
  • Effectively works with others within the team to achieve team goals.  Effectively communicates with co-workers and supervisor. Performs all additional duties as assigned by supervisor.  Follows Fujifilm’s Employee Code of Conduct Policy and maintains and adheres to Fujifilm Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Follows all hazardous waste handling, labeling and storage rules and regulations.

Required Skills/Education

 

  • Technical degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and/or apprenticeship
  • 8 to 10 years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining factory floor equipment with emphasis on electrical/electronic/ controls systems.
  • Must meet the physical demands list below.
  • This position usually requires working four 9-hour and a 4-hour. Work hours may change based on business needs.
  • Required to be detail oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass required safety training such as lockout tagout, hazard communication, ISO, etc.
  • Requires forklift certification and to operate different types of powered forklift trucks.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment supporting all maintenance activities as assigned.
  • Ability to read, design and understand electrical schematic diagrams, PLC programming and troubleshooting.
