Job Description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

 

  • Provides direction, guidance, and leadership for the Site Leadership Team (SLT) and oversees all site functions from finance, human resources, manufacturing, operations, process development, quality, and program management in conjunction with global counterparts.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the Site and reporting on Key Performance Indicators on those operations, which will include: operations, manufacturing, quality, process development, process sciences, supply chain, engineering, technical services, administrative functions, financial performance, employee health and safety, environmental sustainability, and people management.
  • Sets and executes company strategy as well as the annual budget including longer term site deliverables within the broader global FUJIFILM Biotechnologies goals.
  • Establish and deliver site financial plans including operational budgets, revenue, and capital expenditures to support continued growth of the site.
  • Determine and implement technologies and facility capabilities to meet customer needs.
  • Ensures adequate and qualified resources to support site operations while focusing on future manufacturing needs and appropriate cost controls.
  • Acts as company liaison and management representative for HLUS.
  • Leads external community affairs and branding the site in the state and local communities in which the business and employees operate in and from.
  • Site sponsor, advocate, and main point of contact for customers for relevant programs and helps to transfer programs technically and commercially to other sites within the FDB network.
  • Partners across the Global Leadership Team (GLT) to represent and advance the purpose and strategy of the FUJIFILM Biotechnologies business goals and initiatives.
  • Responsible for the overall management and provides guidance to the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that all team members hold the Company’s values to the highest standard.
  • Provides accurate and timely reports outlining the operational condition of the site and if required recovery action plans or communication of successes for shared learning.
  • Ensures all areas of operations at FUJIFILM Biotechnologies Texas are meeting or exceeding productivity, quality, and capacity objectives.
  • Ensures development and ongoing implementation of safety programs while also meeting critical costs and timeline targets.
  • Ensures the site is adhering to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Works well with others to create effective measurement tools to gauge the efficiency and effectiveness of site processes and oversee the successful implementation of both transformation and capital projects while meeting cost and time constraints.
  • Oversees the successful development and execution of all operational activities leading to the successful operation of the site facilities under cGMP and OSHA.
  • Oversees an effective Sales & Operations Planning and ensures “right first time” delivery to customers.
  • Create an environment which promotes FUJIFILM Biotechnologies’ “People First” culture.
  • Works with the SVP Small Scale Operations to ensure alignment to FUJIFILM Biotechnologies KojoX strategy.
  • Performs in line with FUJIFILM Biotechnologies’ core values: Genki, Gemba, Trust, and Delighting our Customers.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Experience prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Use of hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopies, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment is required.
  • Onsite attendance is required.

 

Minimum Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology/manufacturing environment or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in a leadership position in a dynamic and fast paced organization.
  • Strong Quality mindset and ability to influence culture change.
  • Demonstrated experience in:
  • Data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • Change Management
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Previous experience as an operations director/site lead or relevant role which demonstrates the ability to manage a business.
  • Multi-million dollar project experience.
