Position Overview

This position is intended to serve as a member of the Escalation team, researching complex issues for a leading medical software company. The role investigates issues by analyzing problems and exploring the baseline program to determine the root cause, leading to resolution. It will encompass both the system environment and the software application, so the escalation engineer will need to be familiar with Windows Server environments, as well as capable of learning the application and troubleshooting it.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Investigate and resolve issues as they are received from varying sources in the company in a timely manner.
  • Evaluating and recommending server configuration changes to address issues, improve performance.
  • Facilitate growth and learning by educating company staff.
  • Assist in creating innovative tools and processes to assist the team as well as others within the company.
  • Working closely with other team members to coordinate assignments and communicate progress and/or difficulties.
  • Participation in department-specific and project-wide meetings.
  • Providing input, solutions, and recommendations.
  • Comply with all applicable U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) medical device regulatory requirements, applicable ISO 13485 standard requirements and all other applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Qualifications:

  • BS or BE in Computer Science or a related field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Thorough understanding of:
    • Microsoft Windows Server environments (Server 2012, Server 2016)
    • IIS Configuration, debugging.
    • Network LAN/WAN and related components like DNS and network switches and
      load balancers
    • Deploying hardware and software in an enterprise environment.
  • 3-5 years’ working with a software development team including sustaining development and
    maintenance of existing products with proven track record of delivering successful results.
  • Self-directed with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Inquisitive and creative with good problem-solving skills.
  • Resourceful and thorough with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong Analytical and Troubleshooting skills. Ability to take a problem to resolution in a
    timely manner.
  • Experience working with web technologies such as ASP.Net, MVC and JavaScript.
  • Experience with C#/.NET, C++.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
  • Experience with DICOM and HL7.
  • Experience with
  • Microsoft Windows, Virtualization and Networking.

Physical Requirements:


The position requires the ability to perform the following physical demands and/or have the listed capabilities.

  • The ability to sit up 75-100% of applicable work time.
  • The ability to use your hands and fingers to feel and manipulate items, including keyboards, up to 100% of applicable work time.
  • The ability to stand, talk, and hear for 75% of applicable work time.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to ten pounds up to 20% of applicable work time.
  • Close Vision: The ability to see clearly at twenty inches or less.

Travel:

  • Occasional (up to 25%) travel may be required based on business need.
