Position Overview

  • We are hiring for a Production Supervisor (Level 2) role within the Imaging Division (ID).  The Production Supervisor (Level 2) is responsible for efficiently working as a member of leadership driving the values by transforming the Production Operations Team into a customer-focused, proactive operation that will help drive Fujifilm’s business. This position reports to the Operations Manager in Portland, OR.

Job Description

Responsibilities

 

  • Drives initiatives and communicates with the employees of the Production departments to meet the daily needs of the operation in a timely and effective manner.
  • Evaluates customer forecasts to ensure proper scheduling to maximize throughput, meet customer SLA, and minimize overtime.
  • Evaluates and standardizes procedures. Applies Lean principles to improve employee efficiency.
  • Effectively responds and communicates in a timely manner with all appropriate customers both internal and external.
  • Works closely with the Operations Manager to oversee the completion of projects and ensure all needs are completed within budget and timelines.
  • Encourages and champions an atmosphere of Continuous Improvement by fostering an environment with the teams working together to act with intentional inclusion and participation of all team members within Production.
  • Responsible for assisting in formulating plans addressing constraints, obstacles or other challenges that may significantly impact attainment of ongoing business objectives.
  • Participate in periodic management review meetings, including making presentations on issues, concerns, and successes.
  • Ensure that all Environmental Health and Safety standards are being followed, including required training and the proper use of personal protective equipment, as needed.

Required Skills/Education

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with some college and 5-7 years’ work experience in processes, procedures associated with production and at least 3 years in a supervisory role in a fast paced and highly competitive operational and / or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles including 5S, root cause, waste, and Gemba.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel to other corporate sites and industry-related training/events.
  • Flexibility as it relates to scheduling.

Desired Skills

 

  • College degree in an associated field.
  • 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in Leadership in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated project planning and project management skills.
  • Green Belt in Lean Manufacturing principles.
