Position Overview

The FUJIFILM Disoynth Biotechnologies (FDB) Group consist of 6 separate entities with different history and way of workings. The entities are located in US, UK and Denmark. The FDB Group has a common goal of having a global tax strategy and tax policies. 

In this role, you’ll shape the Groups tax strategy and be a part of our Global Central Finance team You will develop and oversee the Group’s Global Tax Strategy, ensuring compliance with international tax laws and  ensuring an efficient tax position for the Group across all jurisdictions

Job Description

You will be part of Corporate Accounting department in the Central finance Unit.  The Central finance Unit is focusing on providing FDB wide services including Corporate Accounting, Corporate Tax compliance, Internal Controls, Central Controlling, Central reporting and ERP and finance systems management. 

The unit is currently being developed and will consist of a team of highly skilled professional dedicated employees with broad experience within finance, corporate tax, controlling and reporting.   

 

The Unit consist of four different departments Corporate Accounting and Tax, Group Financial controlling, Reporting and Finance IT systems and maintenance, and is a part of the Global finance organization.  This role is crucial for ensuring the organization remains compliant  

This is considered a hybrid position, and can be based in Denmark or in North Carolina, U.S.A.

 

Your primary tasks will be:

  • Strategic Tax Planning: Responsible for developing and implement FDB Groups tax strategy, and identify tax-efficient opportunities in line with business strategies and operational changes. Collaborating with finance and accounting teams to ensure our tax strategies and policies are implemented accurately per national tax compliances. Develop the  Group’s Tax Control Framework and streamline internal processes and tax policies. 
  •  Transfer Pricing : Ownership of FDB’s transfer pricing policies including implementation and operationalize the transfer pricing model and policies.    Develop and maintain FDB’s transfer pricing policies and procedures, including ensuring the FDB’s transfer pricing policies and procedures captures FDB’s Kojo-X strategy.  Advise on transfer pricing policies, documentation, and audits and develop and implement strategies to manage the risks associated with transfer pricing. 
  • Risk Management: Identify and address areas of potential tax exposure for FDB Group and ensuring that mitigation strategies in place. Stay updated on international tax laws, treaties, and regulatory changes impacting the business. Identifying, tracking and reporting any potential corporates tax risks or issues and working closely with the finance teams to implement appropriate Internal Tax controls in the FDB Group. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with the business and internal teams such as finance and legal, to support  the business and provide guidance on tax implications of significant transactions.  Foster a culture of tax compliance and awareness throughout the FDB Group, providing training and support as needed. Liase with Fujifilm Group tax departments in Europe, US and Japan. on corporate tax compliance issues and tax request. Furthermore, support the FDB sites with interpretating the group tax reporting requirements.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and CPA or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline 
  • 8+ years of tax experience with working knowledge of international tax and transfer pricing.
  • Generalist knowledge within other areas of tax also a plus.  
  • Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry experience is considered a plus 
  • Experience with working with external advisors on complex tax matters 
  • Technical background and experience to conduct tax related research and provide advise across existing and future growth jurisdictions 
  • Strong knowledge of international tax laws, including OECD guidelines and  transfer pricing. Knowledge about Danish tax laws is a plus but not a requirement. 
  • Experience of working with multi site, multinational organisations on different time zones
