We are hiring a R&D Scientist Intern- Manufacturing Science and Technology. The R&D Scientist Intern will provide R&D support of projects in product and process development by conducting laboratory research under the guidance of a supervisor.

Responsibilities 

• Operate and maintain the Ambr15 bioreactor system
• Perform molecular biology techniques including dPCR and transfection
• Maintain cell cultures and perform cell-based assays
• Assist with experimental design, data analysis, and report generation
• Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals
• Actively participate in group/project meetings
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications
• Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and guidelines
• Good Documentation Practice and Good Laboratory Practices.

Required Skills/Education 

• Must be at least a 2nd year Bachelor's student and a returning student for the next semester or higher level education.
• Minimum 0-2 year of relevant lab course experience
• General lab safety
• Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills
• Problem solving capabilities to accomplish tasks
• Ability to use professional concepts to perform assigned work and solve complex problems
• Ability to demonstrate potential for technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought
• General knowledge of molecular biology techniques (PCR, sample purification, etc.)
• General knowledge of basic laboratory equipment (scales, pH meters, etc.)
• General knowledge of commonly used experimental/research concepts, practices, and procedures.
• General knowledge of computer systems and productivity software.
• General knowledge of GMP and GLP procedures.
• Ability to speak and read English.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Salary and Benefits:

• For California, the base hourly range for this position is $19 - $25. Compensation for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience, location, etc.).
