    POSITION SUMMARY:

     

    This position will work closely with senior staff members to identify and develop testing procedures and protocols necessary for the successful manufacture of MEMS-based inkjet printheads.

     

    KNOWLEDGE: Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.             

    JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working  relationships

    SUPERVISION: Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Identify and develop testing procedures and protocols necessary for the successful manufacture of MEMS-based inkjet printheads.
    • Develop tooling and machinery required to complete testing.
    • Analysis of test data and recommendations for improvement in printhead design and manufacture.
    • Will assist other engineers in design of high precision tooling used in the manufacture of MEMS-based inkjet printheads.
    • Use good problem solving and project management skills to solve the wide array of technical product problems.
    • Communicate especially well and motivate others outside and inside the department to resolve problems and accomplish work through various company resources.
    • Organize technical problem solving strategies clearly and present them effectively to all concerned parties.
    • Use statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DoE), and yield data to help resolve or correct all identified problems.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with a minimum of 1-2 years relevant project experience or course work. Ideal experience will include exposure to: MEMS manufacturing, high-precision manufacturing and tooling and/or testing design and implementation.
    • Excellent problem identification and solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, in order to effectively present information to peers, customers and management.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent analytical skills.
    • Strong working knowledge of standard office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Ability to work in clean room environment.

    DESIRED:

    • Advanced degree.
    • Experience in the inkjet printer industry.
    • Experience with PDMWorks.
    • Experience with AutoCad.
    • Experience with clean room protocol.
    • Experience MEMS fabrication.
    • Experience with Excel VBA .
