The Associate Director, Strategic Account Based Marketing is a global role requiring proven experience in marketing strategy, demand generation, and content development requiring excellent communication skills, technical knowledge and experience in the biopharmaceutical or contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) industries with the ability to translate technical and scientific concepts into clear, concise value propositions, market messaging and demand generation strategies that drive customer engagement and acquisition.

Job Description

The individual will develop and support a range of global marketing strategies, tactics and communications aligned with the Global Marketing Strategy and Company business to promote and expand brand awareness of FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies (FDB) Biologics and Advanced therapy product offerings within our strategic key account customer segment.

 

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Market Development, the Associate Director Strategic Account Based Marketing is a key position that will take an active role in supporting the development of marketing strategies for biologics and advanced therapies, aligned with FDB’s services, modality strategy and Business Development Commercial Strategy. The priority is to create strategic marketing plans, demand generation campaigns, and content that will engage customers, showcase our expertise to customer segments, differentiate our offerings, and deliver growth to the business in alignment with organizational objectives within our strategic key account customer segment.  

 

Main Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Responsible for creating the marketing strategy, developing content, and implementing omni-channel demand generation marketing campaigns and tactics that are aligned with the Global Marketing Strategy for the modalities within our portfolio of offerings and key account plans in the Commercial Sales Team. Our Portfolio includes:
    • Biologics - Cell Culture and Microbial
    • Advanced Therapies - Viral Vector and Vaccines, Cell and Gene therapy
    • Drug Product and Commercial manufacturing services
  • Leads the development of positioning, core messaging and customer segmentation aligned with the specific key account strategy and pipeline. Executes market research and voice of customer as needed to create/refine segmentation, positioning, and messaging.
  • Leads the creation, improvement, and maintenance of a broad range of compliant and up to date marketing materials, including but not limited to:
    • Marketing brochures, fact sheets, eBooks, videos, infographics and other collateral
    • Advertising campaigns
    • SEM/SEO
    • Website content, including campaign landing pages
    • Core service line PowerPoint presentations
    • Sales training tools and presentations
    • Marketing communications, such as launch plans, new site openings, and press releases
  • Collaborates with Technical Marketing in the alignment of demand generation and thought leadership content strategy:
  • Thought leadership content developed and executed by Technical marketing: white papers, insight briefs, webinars, blogs, speaker slide presentations and posters for conferences and events, industry publications
  • Supports the content development of the kojoX (innovative, modular operational delivery ecosystem), and Partners for Life brand campaign tactics through the creation of aligned demand generation strategies for key accounts.
  • Collaborates with digital marketing operations to execute, measure and track campaign KPIs. Communicates campaign insights, impact, ROI to marketing team, stakeholders, and Senior Leadership.
  • Leverages data insights to improve demand generation strategy, tactics, and marketing mix. Makes adjustment as needed to drive customer engagement, deliver marketing leads (MQLs), and win new business.
  • Collaborates with corporate communications team to align social media, earned press and press release content with the marketing strategy, key account strategy and demand generation campaigns.
  • Collaborates with Event team to ensure event strategy and messaging is aligned with the marketing strategy, key account strategy and demand generation campaigns.
  • Serves as Marketing’s liaison with internal key account teams. Collaborates on product launch, new site openings, and sales training with product management, technical marketing, corporate communications, subject matter experts and others as needed to accomplish goals.
  • Collaborates with Product Management and Strategic Business Services to maintain knowledge and insights on competitors, market trends and signals to maintain competitive positioning of our service offerings.
  • Manages external vendors, business partners and collaborators to ensure on-time and on-budget development and execution of marketing strategies.
  • Identifies conferences, industry associations and other event opportunities that can elevate our market position.
  • Performs other activities as assigned.

Minimum Education and Background Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Business, Marketing or related subject with a minimum of 10 years work experience in the Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Contract Research (CRO) or Contract Development and Manufacturing (CDMO) Industries; Masters or PhD Degree in Biological Sciences, Business, Marketing or related subject with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Bio/Pharmaceutical Industry.
  • Understanding of microbial, mammalian and viral/gene therapy-based sectors with a desire to continue learning to provide effective support as FDB expands its technical capabilities and offerings. Ability to work with subject matter experts across multiple functional areas
  • Excellent communication skills demonstrated with the ability to work effectively in cross functional teams and effectively influence team members. Proven ability to establish effective relationships with stakeholders and peers.
  • Excellent scientific writing and presentational skills. Proven ability to translate scientific and technical content into concise and persuasive market messages and engaging content.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects on time and on-budget.
  • Demonstrated knowledge with a variety of marketing concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software tools like SalesForce, SmartSheet, Marketo, ShowPad, and Adobe.
  • Ability to work in a complex, dynamic, global environment and willingness to travel when necessary.

The US salary range for this position is $130,000 to $164,000.  Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
