The Role

 

The Pilot Plant Manager will oversee the Pilot Plant and Pilot Plant personnel to ensure quality manufacture of new products.  They will drive continuous improvement and support employee development through training and collaboration.  This position will drive global alignment for equipment sets.  They will own technology transfers from the Pilot Plant to global affiliates and ensure the best practices are passed down.

Job Description

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Assure that all operations are carried out safely and correctly.
  • Oversees ongoing production to assure that all Operating and Quality protocols are followed.
  • Ensures that the Pilot Plant is following an optimal material selection process for use in specific customer/product combinations.
  • Leverages the Pilot Plant equipment in the development and implementation of new filtration schemes.
  • Owns the development of HVM-ready processes and transfers them to the manufacturing group.
  • Provides technical expertise to troubleshoot operational issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on production schedules.
  • Support other Product Management staff, partnering with the R&D, Applications Engineering, QC, Production, and Business/Sales teams during new product launches to ensure smooth integration into production processes.
  • Engage with the Pilot Plant and R&D group during the commercialization of slurries including hands-on with components and lot builds. Ensure best manufacturing practices are implemented and transferred.
  • Submit and utilize the Engineering Change Notification (ECN) and Management of Change (MOC) for any changes or improvements in PP/LVM equipment.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other technical discipline with 5 plus years of experience in automation, chemical manufacturing, or semiconductor manufacturing required.
  • 1 to 3 years of previous supervisor/management experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills. Ability to interact productively with all levels of the organization.
  • Experienced using Microsoft Office suite.
  • Prior experience with SAP and LIMS is a plus.
  • Ability to assist with electromechanical troubleshooting of systems.
  • Demonstrates strong initiative, taking ownership of tasks and actively seeking solutions to drive progress, despite ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team driven environment.
  • Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese language skills are a plus.
