Position Overview

The Technician 1, Maintenance is responsible for assisting installation, maintenance, and repair of process related systems/equipment. Ensure these systems meet the stringent requirements of pharmaceutical manufacturing. Also responsible for conducting regular inspections and preventive maintenance on process related equipment to ensure equipment is operating efficiently with minimal downtime.

Job Description

What You’ll Do

  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on process equipment, such as bioreactors, centrifuges, ultrafiltration skids, parts washers, 
    autoclaves, isolators, and fillers
  • Assists senior technicians in troubleshooting and repairing equipment malfunctions
  • Maintains accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Follows standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols to ensure compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) quality 
    standards
  • Adheres to all safety requirements and follows safe work practices
  • Notifies management or Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) when unsafe conditions or hazards are found
  • Attends all required safety and health training
  • Supports site operations and emergency work orders during off-hours, as needed
  • Assists with spare parts assessments, as required
  • Other duties, as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Effective communication, both written and oral
  • Knowledge of GMP requirements and programmable logic controllers (PLC) and other process control systems
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills and processes
  • Detail-oriented

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years of maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing setting

Preferred Skills

  • Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing environment
