Position Overview

The Customer Sourcing Specialist is responsible for customer onboarding activities, coordinating material enrollment, supporting tech transfer, and sourcing activities for customer programs at FDBN. Support of the Denmark facility, as needed. This role is a key link between the global sourcing organization and customer program organization for matters related to risk assessment of materials, vendors, new materials, and vendor onboarding activities. This role is responsible to conduct sourcing related deliverables linked to both new and existing customer programs, with aggressive timelines. This role is also responsible to build relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, communicate effectively, and define details to navigate through challenges. The Customer Sourcing Specialist will be working cross functionally in an external capacity with customers and suppliers, but also internally with Manufacturing, Process Science, Quality, Supply Chain Planning, Finance, and FDBD Denmark team.

We are growing our locations and are investing more than $2 billion into establishing a new large-scale manufacturing site for biopharmaceuticals in the United States to accelerate the growth of our Bio CDMO (Contract and Development Manufacturing Organization) business. This will be the largest end-to-end cell culture CDMO provider in North America.

 

The new site will offer end-to-end solutions to our customers looking to manufacture biopharmaceuticals in the US. In addition to drug substance manufacture, it will also provide automated fill-finish and assembly, packaging, and labeling services. The new state-of-the-art facility is located in Holly Springs, North Carolina, United States.

 

Job Description

What You’ll Do

 

• Completes initial materials assessment of customer Bill of Materials (BOMs), including identifying potential new materials and suppliers, evaluating lead-times and high-lighting possible risks
• Supports cost requests by providing needed input from suppliers
• Conducts Requests for Information (RFI) activities for new materials
• Submits ServiceNow requests for new materials
• Completes Trackwise assessment for new materials or changes to existing
• Collaborates with supply planning for new materials or changes to existing
• Supports materials and sourcing related requests in tech transfer projects
• Initiates dialogue with new vendors in collaboration with Category Management team
• Ensures involvement of Supplier Audit Team for onboarding of new vendors
• Conducts Request for Information (RFI) activities for new vendors
• Coordinates vendor creation with finance for new vendors or changes to existing
• Supports vendor change notification process
• Continuous alignment of activities with Category Management team and Global Supplier Development Manager
• Other duties, as assigned

 

Basic Requirements

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Life Science or related field with 5 years in Supply Chain OR
• Master’s degree with 3 years experience in Supply Chain
• SAP S4/HANA or other SAP ERP system experience
• Experience with data management and Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel)

 

Preferred Requirements

 

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulation experience

• APICS training or certifications (or similar)
