Position Overview

The Supply Planner supports the Senior Manager, Supply Planning in the development and maintenance of supply planning activities for FDBU. The primary focus of this position includes the scheduling and maintenance of the Master Manufacturing Production Schedule/Asset Plan along with the frequent review and assessment of opportunities and adjustments based on input from Manufacturing Leadership & Support Teams, Program Management, and Supply Chain. This position primarily coordinates with Manufacturing Leadership & Support Teams and other internal FDBU Teams (program managers, finance, engineering, process development, etc.) to facilitate and offer clear concise communication on the status of the production schedule, operational performance, and strategic alternatives that align with business goals and S&OP objectives.

Job Description

MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Support the scheduling and maintenance of the Master Manufacturing Production Schedule, ensuring visibility across the site.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Senior Management, MT&S, Facilities Coordinators, and Engineering to document and track major maintenance, qualification, requalification, and water run activities affecting RTP facilities or equipment.
  • Assist in reviewing and assessing scheduling opportunities and conflicts, working with internal teams to identify and implement work-around strategies and tactical solutions.
  • Liaise with Manufacturing Senior Leadership to track and explain KPIs related to production scheduling, resource optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Maintain the Manufacturing Planning Equipment Database to ensure accurate records of program equipment selection for forecasting, capacity planning, and scenario analysis.
  • Perform capacity assessments to identify and communicate manufacturing resource gaps (people, equipment, facilities) in alignment with business pipeline needs and S&OP processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives with the Senior Strategic Planner to enhance planning operations.
  • Ensure the organization and maintenance of Planning Department files, folders, and archives.
  • Adhere to best practices by developing and documenting business processes, SOPs, and work instructions related to Manufacturing Planning.
  • Support the coordination, facilitation, and organization of resources to ensure efficient planning and execution.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to build and foster strategic relationships, encourage cooperation, and drive collaboration across the organization.
  • Assist in championing strategic initiatives by explaining key insights, supporting data-driven decision-making, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:

 

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Smartsheet, and Veeva
  • Experience in field of Sales & Operations Planning, Business Administration, or other related fields.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in developing and/or implementing planning tools and production schedules
  • Experience utilizing planning and data visualization tools Access Orchestrate, Schedule Pro, and Tableau

  • Ability to create and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as basic mathematical/reasoning ability.
  • Strong knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures related to the biotechnology industry.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, and demonstrate strong value for accuracy.
  • Proven success in leading and supporting complex projects and bringing them to conclusion.
