Position Overview

Summary:  Under limited supervision of the Sr. Warehouse & Logistics Manager, the Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for the efficient co-ordination and management of GMP warehouse operations in line with GDP / GWP.  The role will ensure accurate receipt, verification, record keeping, distribution, and shipment of materials to support GMP production. In this role, the Warehouse Operations Manager will liaise with internal and external stakeholders ensuring materials are staged in accordance with the Master Schedule, cycle counting is executed and manage a team of supervisors.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure the accurate receiving, picking and issuance of material in support of manufacturing and in line with Quality needs.
  • Review and revise standard operating procedures as required to maintain compliance for the cGMP warehouse and its operations.
  • Perform GMEBA walks to ensure technicians are following all applicable procedures and requirements.
  • Review system transactions and ensure the timely and accurate order fulfillment, documentation, closure of outstanding issues and effective inventory system.
  • Ensure compliance with safe handling and storage requirements, cGMP/ISO, local & corporate policies, and environmental/other related regulations.
  • Perform cycle counting and inventory audits as required.
  • Respond to all refrigerator and or freezer alarms and make necessary material movements to ensure product is maintained within temperature specifications.
  • Direct line manage a team of supervisors over multiple locations.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and site Inspections.
  • Generate and manage the appropriate Warehouse performance metrics (KPI’s).
  • Ensure supervisors and warehouse team members are trained and competent.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Team player with demonstrated strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of import/export documentation & custom regulations a plus.
  • Working knowledge of ERP application software (SAP preferred).
  • Detail oriented and accurate.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments with little supervision.
  • Possess valid driving license; candidates with a PSA forklift license a plus.

  • Must be able work weekends, off-shifts, and overtime as required
  • Handle and work with hazardous materials and chemicals per OSHA guidelines
  • Use hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment is required.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds unassisted and up to 60 pounds with assistance.
  • Work in cold temperatures.
  • Distinguish colors.
  • Operate a forklift.
  • Work in high places.
  • Attendance is mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and (11) eleven years of work experience, which includes: (7) seven years of warehousing, Supply Chain and or operations experience and (3) three years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Associate degree and (9) nine years of work experience, which includes: (5) five years of warehousing, Supply Chain and or operations experience and (3) three years of management or supervisor experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree and (7) seven years of work experience, which includes: (3) three years of warehousing, Supply Chain and or operations experience and (3) three years of management or supervisor experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or working within a highly regulated industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a cGMP environment.
