Job Description

Position Summary: 

 

Work alongside a team to analyze problems in a manufacturing environment and create solutions to improve manufacturing precision and quality as well as ergonomics. Design and analyze mechanical parts, systems and equipment. Produce 3D models, 2D mechanical drawings and bills of materials for various product components, tools, fixtures and assemblies. Interface with suppliers to manufacture designs, assemble and implement.

 

KNOWLEDGE

Learns to use professional concepts. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.

JOB COMPLEXITY

Works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Builds stable working relationships internally.

SUPERVISION

Normally receives detailed instructions on all work

EXPERIENCE

Typically requires no previous professional experience.

  

Essential Job Functions:

  • Produce 3D SolidWorks component and assembly models as well as detailed drawings.
  • Optimize models for manufacturability, assembly and maintenance.
  • Document new designs through an Engineering Change Request (ECR) process
  • Interface closely with Documentation Control team, Manufacturing Engineering Team, Production Team and Manufacturing Technicians, Equipment Maintenance Team and Engineering management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

 

  • Completing  a course of studies in the Engineering discipline or other technical area
  • Solidworks Experience
  • Ability to perform work independently to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to effectively communicate with peers and project teams
  • Ability to problem-solve using scientific methods and engineering principles to arrive at practical solutions
  • Technical aptitude
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

 

Desired:

  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical components.
  • Ability to sketch ideas to effectively communicate with others.
  • SAP or ERP system exposure
  • Solidworks Associate Certificate
