This will be up to a 3-month paid internship (hourly rate range $25-$30/hour, commensurate with experience) focused on characterizing, developing, and optimizing chemical processes. This is a temporary position employed by SwipeJobs, working on site at Fujifilm Dimatix.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Execute basic chemical lab skills
  • Perform engineering calculations
  • Set up data collection systems
  • Collect data
  • Organize data
  • Analyze data
  • Present data
  • Maintain a work list and work for list for extended periods

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • None

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

REQUIRED:

  • 2 or more years of chemical engineering education (or equivalent)
  • Statistics
  • Experience with MS Office (or equivalent)

Desired

  • Eng lab work
  • Experience with a dedicated math software package
  • Training in P&ID
  • Exposure to chemical processes

 

TECHINIQUES TO BE LEARNED IN THIS ROLE:

 

  • Photolithography process for MEMS wafer with topography
  • Lamination, exposure and develop process of photosensitive dry film
  • Use Filmetrics and KLA P16 to measure film thickness
  • Develop method to baseline photosensitive photoresist, dry film process
  • Develop manufacturing methodology to improve photoresist, dry film process

  • Must be able to execute normal laboratory activities
  • Position requires a high degree of manual dexterity
  • Must be able to wear protective gloves
  • Must be able to work with microscopes
  • Position requires ability to work at close vision (20 inches or less) and must have the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to identify and distinguish colors
  • Most of the time the job will be performed while standing.
  • Occasional travel
