    This is a temporary position employed by Corestaff working on site at Fujifilm Dimatix. 

     

    POSITION SUMMARY: Process Engineer will play key role in improving manufacturing capabilities in expanding MEMS-based inkjet printhead final acceptance testing operation. Focus in two main areas: drive general improvement to the print test process, and work with equipment engineering on the testing of a new generation tester.

    A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.

    Job Complexity

    Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.  

    Supervision

    Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

    Experience

    Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Work closely with equipment/software engineering and manufacturing to drive improvements in test reproducibility, throughput and quality.

    Provide active support to manufacturing including problem solving, training, process optimization and error proofing.

    • Work with lead engineer to evaluate improvements to test software and measurement using analytical tools like Minitab and JMP
    • Work with Quality and customer engineering to implement customer driven changes and with Manufacturing for training and documentation.
    • Participate with manufacturing, development, quality assurance in defining requirements and recommendations for process and equipment modifications and evaluating next generation test system.
    • Develop project scopes, schedules and budgets within area of expertise.

    Use problem solving methodologies (e.g. FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, QFD and Design of Experiments)  to drive improvements in yield and process control in manufacturing

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    REQUIRED:

    • BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering or related field.
    • 2 years or more experience with high precision assembly/manufacturing, including extensive experience with process automation.

     

    Experience in one or more of the following areas:

    • High precision tooling and fixture development and automation
    • Digital printing
    • Medical or Electronic Device Assembly
    • Robotics and/or machine controls
    • Organizational skills to track and coordinate multiple concurrent projects
    • Familiarity with and understanding of SPC, LEAN and Six Sigma
    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
    • Proven capability in complex technical problem solving, including group design activities

     

    DESIRED:

    • Advanced degree in related field
