    Job Summary:

     

    Fujifilm is looking for a Industrial Designer III who can draw from user insights and his/her vision to create holistic experiences.

    Since great design comes from both vision and human understanding you’ll need to know how to uncover the opportunities and create new experiences that take the fullest advantage of them. You will be able demonstrate through examples how you have used a human-centered design process to develop products that enable new and improved experiences. You must be willing to reach out and collaborate and integrate with other disciplines within our diverse company.

    You will be trusted to help guide Fujifilm SonoSite into a new future, contributing to product design programs for new visual medicine solutions. In this role you will work with our designers and engineers, in a participatory, collaborative, teambased work environment. Your work will inspire others by evangelizing the goals of the design, the “Why” of the product.

    You will help set vision and direction while also delegating industrial design deliverables to others. You have strong, verbal, written and visual presentation skills. You possess great drawing and 3D CAD skills and also understand the realities and constraints of manufacturing processes. Your designs are always grounded in insight(s) about end users, driven by your design vision, and you understand how your design reinforces the product’s brand and business context. You work is best in a collaborative, open environment.

     

     

    Essential Job Functions:

     

    • Understand customers and their needs before designing product or interface concepts.
    • Design and refine both physical and visual concepts and assets for physical and user interface design teams.
    • Be an active and participating member of the Experience Design Team
    • Meet commitments to engineering and marketing
    • Collaborate with product teams to define problems and develop solutions.
    • Work with product leads to improve current products and services.
    • Participate and/or facilitate collaborative sessions in-house.
    • Responsible and accountable for carrying out the requirements of the company's quality system.

     

    Knowledge and Experience:

     

    • 3-6 years professional design experience
    • BS, or higher, in Industrial Design
    • Track record for design excellence & innovation
    • Ability to influence others
    • Proficiency in ID tools (sketching, CAD, Adobe CS, PowerPoint or Keynote)
    • Extensive knowledge of the product development process
    • Must be able to observe minimally invasive medical procedures.
    • Must be able to travel.
    • Strong understanding of design-thinking process is preferred.
    • Experience in a medical field is not required
