Summary:

 

Fujifilm Sonosite is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern to support development of Point-of-Care ultrasound medical devices in Bothell, Washington.  As an individual contributor, you will investigate material interactions/compatibility and provide material selection proposals based on investigation results. You will work collaboratively with full-time Materials Engineers on projects that impact the quality of Fujifilm Sonosite systems and customer satisfaction. You will also develop traceability methods for test data to simplify and automate the requirement verification process. You will work closely with the System Verification team to determine what data are being generated and work with the Systems Engineering tool administrator to develop a system to receive those data. While owning your specific tasks, you will work collaboratively within a technical cross-functional team to accomplish project goals and improve processes and ways of working for the future.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Learn materials test methods and tools through investigation and mentorship from senior engineers
  • Create and execute materials test procedures and document results in test reports for release
  • Communicate conclusions and proposals to the greater team
  • Learn how requirements traceability tools are set up as a basis for making improvements
  • Work with System Verification team to develop an understanding of manual and automated tests and how their outputs are tracked and traced, including identification of problem areas
  • Develop new or improved structures within the traceability tools to improve the efficiency of test data intake and tracing

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Pursuing a relevant engineering or science degree (Sophomore or higher)
  • Interested in materials engineering and testing
  • Interested in medical device verification, requirement traceability and systems engineering

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-driven, organized and good with time management
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse, cross-functional environment
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds, with or without accommodations

Hourly internship rate: $20.00
