Summary:

 

As a Process Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the development and optimization of medical ultrasound transducer manufacturing processes. You will work closely with experienced engineers to learn about various aspects of manufacturing, including process development, troubleshooting, and quality control. This internship will provide you with valuable insights into the medical device industry and help you develop practical engineering skills. 

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Complete a project to enhance transducer assembly instructions by incorporating interactive technologies such as video tutorials, augmented reality, and gamified learning. 
  • Assist in developing and sustaining ultrasound transducer manufacturing processes. 
  • Support troubleshooting of manufacturing processes. 
  • Contribute to the creation and update of engineering documentation such as process maps, process FMEAs, assembly instructions, test methods, drawings, and test reports. 
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to identify areas of improvement. 
  • Assist in investigating new tools, materials, manufacturing processes, and technologies. 
  • Participate in the transfer of designs from development into manufacturing. 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Pursuing a B.S. degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Strong interest in manufacturing engineering and process improvement. 
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to thrive in a diverse, cross-functional environment
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds, with or without accommodations

Hourly internship rate: $20.00
