Manufacturing Supervisor – Environmental Support

Department:  Internal Manufacturing

Location:  Thousand Oaks, CA

Reports To:  Manufacturing Senior Manager

 

 

The Manufacturing Supervisor – Environmental Support is a critical leadership position responsible for the Environmental Support Team.  The Environment Support Team is responsible for cleaning and sanitization of all controlled areas (CNC and all graded areas) of the facility, to include all equipment. The facility and equipment sanitization processes consist of the application of multiple disinfectants in which disinfectant efficacy is supported through efficacy and coupon studies.  The sanitization of all graded area and equipment is documented via an electronic batch record system.  This team is critical to ensuring that the Manufacturing Environment is consistently maintained in a state of microbial control as to ensure adherence to Manufacturing schedule deliverables.

 

Major Activities and Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure that the Environmental Support Team adheres to the production schedule to make sure all required cleanings are performed in accordance with established guidelines or specifications without negative impact to the production schedule
  • Will schedule staff according to daily plan requirements
  • Work directly with manufacturing planner to schedule and plan routine and non-routine cleaning activities
  • Ensure Environmental Support Staff maintain inventory of equipment and supplies
  • Will review, revise, and evaluate all applicable documents to ensure all cleaning requirements are clearly defined and documented in adherence to GMP standards
  • Lead WCT meeting for Environmental Support team – (cover daily tasks, previous shift notes, safety, WOs)
  • Partner with Area Leadership to ensure staff members are taking their breaks and meal period
  • Responsible for direct reports as it pertains to personnel management, guidelines, training, disciplinary and performance appraisals
  • Supports and/or own deviations and corrective/preventive actions related to facility / equipment cleaning and sanitization processes
  • Be responsible for the safety and quality culture of the department and champion continued improvement

Collaborate with manufacturing support groups (Quality, MSAT, Engineering, Supply Chain, and network partners)

  • Develop and implement departmental strategy and plans that are aligned with the broader organizational strategy and deliver continuous improvement
  • Deliver against organizational financial commitments with associated shift
  • Support development and execution of studies and protocols related to environmental controls

 

Background Requirements (Education, Behavioral, Professional & Technical Capabilities  Experience):

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 0 - 2 years of team management experience
  • Master of Science (M.Sc.) with 1+ years of experience; or
  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with 3+ years of experience; or
  • Associate degree with 5+ years of experience; or
  • High school diploma with 6+ years of experience

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in a GMP manufacturing environment
  • Experience in applying Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing
  • Excellent communication skills, drive, sense of urgency, energy level and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to forge and maintain positive relationships with other functional areas
  • Ability to effectively develop and mentor staff and positively advance the culture of an organization

 

Work Environment:

  •  Work is generally performed in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facility. A GMP facility is governed by regulatory agencies in which there are specific requirements for hygiene and acceptable clothing. The following items are restricted when accessing the GMP manufacturing area:
    • Makeup, painted nails
    • Hair products (spray, gel, wax)
    • Perfume and cologne
    • Jewelry (rings, watches, bracelets, fitness bands, necklaces, and facial/ear piercings, etc.)
  • Donning of gowns requires ability to physically don gowns while balancing in a cleanroom environment
  • Personal Protective Equipment is required to perform certain tasks (i.e., latex/nitrile gloves, respirators and or masks, goggles, plant dedicated scrubs/shoes, full body gown that covers all exposed skin)
  • Subject to extended periods of standing, to include crouching / kneeling (8 plus hours) while being donned in applicable PPE
  • Required to handle biohazardous and hazardous material via direction of Standard Operating Procedures

 

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Medium work that includes moving, lifting, pushing and or pulling objects up to 50 pounds
  • Medium work that includes pushing and or pulling equipment with up to 50 pounds of force assisted by wheels
  • Must be willing and able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb ladders, and wear a respirator
  • Position requires a combination of standing in the manufacturing environment and walking around the facility
  • Open to work various shift
  • Required to work weekends and some holidays

 

 

Salary and Benefits:
