Job Purpose - This position is responsible for technical repair and final quality inspection on assigned Endoscopic units. This position is responsible for consistently meeting monthly repair targets while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform minor, major, and overhaul repairs on core G/I (Endoscopic) equipment based upon the Incoming Inspector's findings.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Assemble and disassemble small highly delicate parts of the endoscope assuring the unit meets the established specifications.
  • Performs final quality inspection on the completed repair to ensure the product is up to the manufacturer's original specifications before passing the scope along to the final quality control station.
  • Troubleshoot potential problems not originally discovered during the initial inspection.
  • Operate required equipment in a safe manner following established safety rules, maintain a neat and clean work area, follow established tool and instrument control procedures, and report any unsafe acts or conditions to immediate supervisor.
  • Follow all work instructions and apply to real situations in a very quick manner.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Reach monthly targets on a consistent basis.
  • Meet and/or exceed deadlines.
  • Comply with all applicable U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) medical device regulatory requirements, applicable ISO 13485 standard requirements and all other applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalency is required.
  • Electronic and/or Mechanical Certification or degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of Endoscopic Repair experience required, or minimum 2 years repair experience working on related medical equipment.
  • Electronic and mechanical skills required.
  • Solder skills and experience required.
  • Able to professionally communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Able to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ability to research and analyze various different types of information.
  • Ability to prioritize work.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret essential job-related documents.
  • Ability to present and speak effectively and professionally to employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate and match figures and amounts.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, use electronic or mechanical repair devices, fine motor skill dexterity, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
  • The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 to 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
