    We are currently recruiting for a Chemical Engineer Co-Op for the Spring of 2019..  Chemical Engineering students are in an engineering group that is responsible for maintaining good operating conditions, improving those conditions for cost and yield, and developing new conditions based on product requirements or new technology.  This work encompasses the area of process development, including work in flow systems, coatings, chemical processes, heat transfer, and wastewater treatment.  The scope of activities includes basic research, laboratory testing, and full-scale line testing. 

    Chemical Engneering Co-Op's will research, develop, design and test chemical processes, equipment and systems, applying principles and techniques of chemical engineering. Contributes process and engineering support to production plants; evaluates and introduces new technology, methods or processes and the development and integration of innovative ideas to improve chemical manufacturing operations, as well as to implement capacity increases; assisting production plants with short and longer term problem solving. Works with existing and new raw material for improved performance, lower cost, problem solving, supplier issues and new products.     

    Work Term #1 
    • Training on Management of Change 
    • Training on Potential/Problem Analysis 
    • Constant Conditions 
    • Testing of raw materials 
    • Support manufacturing line 
    • Practical understanding of fundamentals such as fluid mechanics, heat transfer, mass transfer, thermodynamics, kinetics, equipment design and process control 

    Work Term #2 
    • Assist with projects for product and process improvement 
    • Qualify new chemical suppliers 
    • Participate in cost reduction projects 

    Work Term #3 
    • Similar type of responsibilities as work term #2, with more independence 
    • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection and adaptation and modification of complex techniques, procedures and manufacturing equipment and processes.
