This senior level Project Engineer operates in the role of "Tier 2 Project Engineer (T2PE)", aka Solutions Engineer (SE), and reports to the MI Implementations team. As a member of the Implementation team, the SE's main focus is to ensure technically sound Synapse MI solutions are handed to implementation teams for quality and efficient delivery. To achieve this goal, the SE works closely with cross functional teams within FMSU - i.e. Sales, Marketing, Commercial, Engineering and Support to consult and develop technical solutions during the pre-sales processes. Ultimately, FMSU MI solutions cannot be sold without the SE's approval.
Duties and responsibilities
Participate in cross-functional team environments that include both "technical" and "non-technical" members.
Consult and develop technical solutions for all FMSU MI products - Radiology PACS, Cardiology PACS, Mobility, VNA, RIS.
Employ expert level knowledge of all infrastructure areas that pertain to FMSU MI products.
Server hardware components.
Windows Server OS (2008/2012).
VCP level understanding of vSphere product suite - ESXi, HA/DRS concepts, SRM design and deployment.
Storage infrastructure - SAN/NAS deployment, appropriate protocol use (Block, File, NFS, iSCSI).
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuance concepts, the difference between the two, and Fuji's best practice guidelines.
Determine migration methodologies, high level project scopes and pricing for existing customer infrastructure changes (data migrations, hardware refreshes, VNA integrations, etc.).
Act as a bridge between the technical pre-sales and product implementation processes.
Delver timely and accurate technical documentation to MI Implementation project teams.
Assist with internal tool set development - Salesforce.com workflow, "ESX Calculator" maintenance and development.
Ensure proposed MI solutions align with overall goals and direction of the FMSU MI business.
Participate in 3rd party hardware and software commercialization process.
Comply with all applicable U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) medical device regulatory requirements, applicable ISO 13485 standard requirements and all other applicable laws, regulations and standards.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or Associates degree with significant on-the-job experience in a hospital, Cardiology or Radiology setting in a senior technical or managerial role.
3+ years Synapse MI Product deployments.
Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
Thorough knowledge of PACS, VNA and Clinical Information Systems for Cardiology, Radiology, and related services including workflow.
Working knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery implementation and best practices.
Advanced systems design skills.
5-10 years full time experience working with Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems (2003/2008/2012/XP/Windows 7) in a technical capacity.
Expert level (VCP) knowledge in vSphere products - specifically ESXi and Site Recovery Manager.
Expert level knowledge in storage infrastructure design.
Firm knowledge of overall network design and security.
Familiarity with clinical data transfer protocols and interfaces (DICOM, HL7, XML, etc.).
Ability to work independently with strong initiative.
