We are growing our locations and are investing more than $2 billion into establishing a new large-scale manufacturing site for biopharmaceuticals in the United States to accelerate the growth of our Bio CDMO (Contract and Development Manufacturing Organization) business. This will be the largest end-to-end cell culture CDMO provider in North America.

 

The new site will offer end-to-end solutions to our customers looking to manufacture biopharmaceuticals in the US. In addition to drug substance manufacture, it will also provide automated fill-finish and assembly, packaging, and labeling services. The new state-of-the-art facility is located in Holly Springs, North Carolina, United States.

About This Role

The HR Business Partner plays a vital role in ensuring employee satisfaction, engagement and retention through the development and implementation of policies and practices. The HR Business Partner is a leader that has empathy and appropriate firmness. The HR Business Partner drives HR programs that focus on our people. This is a highly visible role.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Provides HR guidance to employees at all levels within the organization. Consults with manager for matters of significance to the organization.
  • Manages and resolves employee relations issues through coaching, conflict resolution and problem solving
  • Coaches and partners with management on performance, disciplinary and developmental conversations
  • Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations that balance the employee needs and business needs while also ensuring confidentiality
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Project manages the development of concept, processes and procedures for implementation to support the growth of the organization while maintaining legal compliance and supporting business needs
  • Partners with leadership and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Facilitates and supports new employee orientation, and other trainings, in HR related areas
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation
  • Assists with preparing and receiving required paperwork and documentation for employee changes (transfers, promotions, etc.)
  • Conducts 30/60/90 day check-ins with new hires and managers of new hires
  • Manages the review, maintenance, and approval of appropriately leveled and benchmarked Career Framework and Job Descriptions, including review of FLSA designation
  • Reviews and approves offer letters and payroll action forms for assigned workstream
  • Participates in interviews of leadership for assigned workstream
  • Participates in quarterly SWP (Strategic Work Plan) meetings with assigned workstream
  • Administration, preparation and accurate filing of leaves of absence, employee changes (transfer, promotions, etc.), tuition reimbursements, bonuses, annual compensation increases & AIP, etc.
  • Manages termination and offboarding process, including exit interviews
  • Provides backup for entering employee changes in HRIS
  • Assists with People and Culture initiatives, events and activities
  • Tracks and prepares HR metrics for the organization to ensure compliance and the ability to interpret data for appropriate action
  • Assists with Global Mobility processes
  • Assists in administration of Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies internship program (recruitment, onboarding, activities, etc.)
  • Performs other duties, as assigned

Basic Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED with 9+ years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience OR
  • Associate’s degree with 7+ years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Communications or other similar area with 5+ years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience.
  • At least 2 years of basic computer skills in Microsoft Office products
  • Previous experience conducting investigations, coaching managers and employees

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Communications, or other related field with 5+ years of experience years in a recruiting or support role
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Previous experience in a cGMP environment
  • Previous experience developing HR processes or procedures
  • 3+ years’ previous experience utilizing iCIMS, ADP and DocuSign
  • 3+ years’ of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced environment
  • SHRM-CP or PHR
