Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Obtain forklift certification and perform material handling operations as assigned.
- Perform compounding and sampling in support of blending operations.
- Conduct sampling and offload of raw material Bulk tankers.
- Sampling and staging of small volume raw materials including entry into inventory tracking system.
- Commissioning of new containers for IBC fleets.
- Processing materials for secondary market including transfer and blending of materials.
- Correctly document containers processed as required by standard operating procedure, including manual and electronic logs, forms, and labels.
- Conduct tank to tank transfers in support of maintenance activities and return to service post-repair.
- Communicate equipment status and outages to the plant coordinator and process supervisor, as needed for correct, safe operation. Assist maintenance to troubleshoot and operate equipment for repair activities.
- Participate in operational, quality, and safety reviews, as assigned.
- Participate in (ERT) Emergency Response Team.
- Maintains housekeeping and safety requirements in a wide range of plant operations.
- Complies with all process operator certification requirements and other certification requirements as assigned by the supervisor. Initial focus to be on utility related with cross training into other areas over time.
- Operates Industrial Waste Treatment (IWT) plant within City of Mesa permit limits.
- Operates Deionized Water unit to support high purity chemical applications in blending, rinsing, and cleaning operations.
- Operates Ammonia and Acid Fume Scrubbers within air discharge permit limits.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of chemical handling or equivalent experience. High purity chemical, pharmaceutical preferred.
- Minimum 1 year Forklift experience.
- Previous or current tractor truck driving experience a plus.
- Must be fully qualified in at least one basic task certification within 3 months of hire and fully qualified at three other process certifications within 6 months of hire.
- Good computer skills a plus.
- Forklift experiences a plus.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., stoop, bend, climb and reach.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization.
- Must have a valid Arizona drivers’ license and clean driving record.
- This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
