The Program Management team is critical to the success of FDB through careful coordination and management of client programs to support our customers in advancing tomorrow’s cell therapy medicines. The role of Head of Program Management is to establish processes, lead a team, partner with FDB’s Commercial organization in identifying and attracting new clients, supporting the projects proposal and contracting efforts, and ensuring an effective onboarding and delivery of client programs.

 

Work Location: Thousand Oaks, CA

Reports to: Head of Site, FDBC

 

Travel:  Travel required (up to 20%)

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Primary interface to Commercial Organization for the evaluation of new client programs for fit at the FDBC Cell Therapy production facility.
  • Lead the development, negotiation, and administration of a high-volume of client contracts
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders to refine and renegotiate Master Supply and Service Agreements with clients, as needed.
  • Serve as a member of the Site Leadership Team and contribute to the execution and development of site strategy and achieve objectives. 
  • Ensure proposals for client programs are aligned with site business objectives and capabilities.
  • Issue of Scopes of Work for client programs and track milestone achievement and revenue recognition.
  • Coordinate with Site Leadership Team (SLT) to effectively onboard and deliver client programs.
  • Ensure that all customer program activities delivered by the program teams are planned and tracked in accordance with approved scopes of work.
  • Established strong communication with customers and stakeholders (both internal and external)
  • Identify, assess, and communicate program risks and associated mitigation plans, as necessary
  • Understand and communicate the impact of changes to program plans (both client requested and necessary changes given developmental nature of programs).
  • Complete option analysis with FDBC team and customers, securing agreement and implementation. 
  • Integrate a total picture of the complete add-up of client programs portfolio across the site , identifying issues and solutions,  providing the SLT, Commercial Leadership Team and Global Leadership Team (as applicable) with options to address those issues  
  • Contribute to company revenue targets by maximizing program milestone success, identifying and assessing options when change occurs, and seeking to balance ups/downs across the portfolio.
  • Minimize negative impact on program revenues and profitability by ensuring program managers/project managers teams recognize scope changes on existing work-plans and manage additional scope requests.
  • Facilitate the development of customer relationships by ensuring FDBC understand and display excellent customer service and representing FDBC on joint meetings.
  • Underpin the reputation of FDB for superb customer service and as a high achieving profitable business by coaching program teams and encouraging a learning environment.
  • Establish, track, analyze, and communicate KPI for client programs performance encouraging and seeking ways to improve.
  • Maintain the short and long term asset plans and production forecasts. Identify and advise the SLT of bottlenecks / opportunities in the schedule to ensure product delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Business Planning Group, Commercial Teams, as necessary to develop and maximize FDB services based on client feedback.
  • Serve as primary interface with Commercial and Marketing teams in support of marketing campaigns.
  • Coordinate site-based leaders and resources in support of client outreach initiatives.
  • Lead potential client visits and communicate the Commercial offering to maximize the benefits

 

 

 

Education and Professional Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Business Administration with 17+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education; or Master of Science (M.Sc.) or Business Administration (M.BA.) with 12+ years of experience; or PhD in Science/Business with 10+ years of experience
  • 12+ years of team management experience

 

Professional Qualifications:

 

  • Mastery on project management experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical development and manufacturing environment managing a portfolio of multiple complex programs.
  • Experience with GMP, quality systems, regulations and inspection/audit readiness
  • Certifications in Project/Risk Management (PMI-PMP, PMI-RMP) or Lean Six Sigma and demonstrated practical experience is a plus.
  • Excellent Accounting/Finance/Budgeting experience and P&L management skills
  • Experience with commercial and marketing activities
  • Demonstrated capabilities in establishing and maintaining business partnerships with a focus on customer satisfaction
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, manage multiple competing priorities while driving all projects forward and meeting program/project deliverables
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, team building, program management and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to develop, communicate, and execute plans and strategies with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and oral communication skills

 

Salary and Benefits:

 

  • $200,000 to $250,000 per year, depending on experience
