Summary: 

 

The Senior Electrical Engineer/Technical Project Manager (TPM) is a critical project leadership position within the Hardware Engineering department. You will lead the design and development of hardware products (e.g., computer hardware, peripherals, devices, and other electronic equipment) primarily within the electrical engineering function. You will work cross-functionally with adjacent groups such as mechanical engineering, experience design, and software development. Experience and knowledge in leading complex products through the product development process is critical to success. This position requires a base of technical expertise in electrical engineering and system design to distil technical trade-offs, review deliverables for quality, and manage the system interfaces. This position is an opportunity to take products through the end-to-end development lifecycle, from inception through design, development, testing, deployment, and support. In this role, you will lead board & system level electrical development, with the opportunity to drive innovation and influence the value & quality of our products. Essential Job Functions:

  • Successfully lead large, complex projects by executing product development processes effectively.
  • Assess, articulate and drive to a conclusion the technical options, risks, and trade-offs across hardware engineering.
  • Ensure the project meets the business metrics for design, schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Lead internal resources, external partners, and vendors in developing product solutions.
  • Drive collaborative updates to the project plan of record (POR).
  • Gain buy-in from stakeholders and communicate the POR.
  • Address conflicts and remove obstacles for the team to focus on critical development activities.
  • Be ultimately responsible for the quality of the project deliverables.
  • Drive accountability by tracking and reviewing project tasks.
  • Continually analyze project needs and collaborate with group managers to adjust the resources required to execute the scope.
  • Regularly meet with teams to execute the vision and strategy of the product. Ensure the product being developed is the “right” product.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a design engineer in the medical device or consumer electronic industry.
  • Experience leading multiple complex product development cycles from inception to launch.
  • Track record of positively managing conflict and building positive relationships.
  • Experience with medical device development & medical device regulatory requirements is desirable but not required.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent writing, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs with or without accommodations.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $97,000 - $135,000 depending on experience + variable bonus opportunity
