Job Title: Supply Chain Master Data Specialist, MS

 

Job purpose

 

The Supply Chain Master Data Specialist is responsible for Product Data Management (PDM), including maintenance of Item, Bill of Material & Routing, and stock types in a multi-plant ERP environment. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of PDM, MRP and lean manufacturing concepts (KANBAN, POKE-YOKE) to improve and sustain high levels of customer service while optimizing inventory stock levels. The role will include maintaining ERP master file data for both commercial and service product through the product’s entire life cycle.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Product Data Management Responsibilities:
    • Maintain SAP Item set up and daily maintenance of all product and part numbers, along with associated BOM and routing set-ups throughout the product lifecycle with a critical level of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Ongoing PDM change management related to new product introductions, configurations, promotions, engineering changes and service bulletins.
  • Stock Model/Inventory Management:
    • Perform ongoing reviews of min/max and SMQ target inventory levels to identify necessary stock model overrides needed to ensure inventory optimization.
    • Work closely with Supply Chain leadership to align PDM set up with ERP Stock Model Fundamentals (AOQ, MOQ, Stock Type, Sourcing, etc.) and with Plant Schedulers to refine stock model settings.
    • Monitor forecasting and capacity planning updates to assist in identifying gaps and address overrides needed to reduce service exposure and risk.
    • Support quarterly reviews of Obsolete and Slow-Moving Inventory, and SKU rationalization opportunities.
    • Ensures stock model profile positively impact Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • General: 
    • Interface extensively with cross-functional resources (Supply Chain, Customer Service, Forecasting, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, etc.).
    • Maintain various reporting systems to ensure accuracy and timeliness, and
    • Supports Operations leadership in day-to-day activities.
    • Responsible for Ad Hoc analysis and projects as requested.
  • Competencies:
    • Must possess a strong knowledge of supply chain fundamentals, ERP systems and product/material cost structures.
    • Work independently in a fast-paced work environment, with the ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
    • Proactive, resourceful and results oriented.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills.
    • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Reporting capabilities utilizing multiple data sources and high level of accuracy.
    • Comply with all applicable U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) medical device regulatory requirements, applicable ISO 13485 standard requirements and all other applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or related field.
  • 5-8 years working in a Manufacturing Supply Chain role.
  • 5-8 Experience with ERP systems.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • APICS certification or equivalent preferred.

Physical requirements

 

The position requires the ability to perform the following physical demands and/or have the listed capabilities:

  • The ability to sit up to 75-100% of applicable work time.
  • The ability to use your hands and fingers to feel and manipulate items, including keyboards, up to 100% of applicable work time.
  • Ability to stand, sit, talk, and hear for 75% of applicable work time.

Travel

  • Occasional (up to 10%) travel may be required based on business need.
