Job Summary

The Facilities Specialist will be responsible for maintenance to support FCDI’s operations in Research and Development (R&D), Discovery Research Manufacturing (DR MFG) and Therapeutics cGMP Manufacturing (TX MFG) at its various locations.  This individual will be responsible for planned and unplanned maintenance within FCDI facilities following established and developing procedures. This position will assist with vendor and contractor oversight. Utilize experiences to make recommendations to improve procedures. Contribute to the EHS program.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform all aspects of facility maintenance in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and non-routine maintenance on utility systems/equipment as directed.
  • Schedule vendor technicians for equipment preventive maintenance, and non-routine maintenance.
  • Assist with set-up and fit out of lab and supports spaces, as requested.
  • Conduct building inspections, document findings, and take actions as assigned.
  • Interact with other staff or contractors involved in maintenance, including routine and change-over cleaning.
  • Interact with Building Automation System (BAS) and other building monitoring systems to review utility and equipment functionality.
  • Participate in maintenance team on-call rotation, responding to critical alarms during normal business hours and when scheduled through the on-call rotation.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and make minor repairs when necessary or recommendations for complex repairs.
  • Support the development and improvement of written maintenance and operation procedures.
  • Complete documentation of all work performed on applicable cGMP system.
  • Other job functions as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to self-schedule or work as part of a team
  • Mechanically inclined and intellectual curiosity to understand how systems function
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, good documentation practices (GDP) and adherence to procedures
  • Effective communication skills across diverse employee and vendor audiences
  • Comfortable using MS Word, MS Excel, and building/equipment automation systems
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a normal workday
  • Ability to participate in on-call schedule
  • A valid driver’s license to travel between Madison facilities
  • Four years of relevant experience, or an associate degree/trade certification and 2 years of related experience.
