    Job Summary:


    Provide manufacturing engineering and process development support for the processes used in the manufacture of medical ultrasound devices.  Apply subject matter expertise to develop improved process performance and product reliability. Work from requirements and problem descriptions with little supervision.  Resolve process problems to root cause in an expeditious manner.  Provide NPI support including DFM feedback.  Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives.  Contribute beyond functional boundaries.  Manage supplier corrective actions.   Write unambiguous, concise and effective engineering reports and process/assembly instructions.   Maintain accurate BOMs, procedures, and “Pick To Order” configurations. 


    Responsibilities include:


    • Provide production NPI support for medical ultrasound devices and its accompanying accessories
    • Create PFMEAs and initiate improvements based off of the findings
    • Create, validate, and maintain process instructions
    • Create and maintain Ultrasound System BOMs and System configurations
    • Use lean and 6 sigma methods to identify and improve quality and reduce costs
    • Create assembly fixture/jigs when needed 


    Essential Job Functions:


    • Manufacturing engineering support for systems operations.
    • New process development to support New Product Introductions (NPI)
    • Initiate and support product/process improvements through lean and 6 sigma methods to improve quality, cost, and delivery metrics.
    • Responsible and accountable for carrying out the requirements of the company's quality system.



    Knowledge and Experience:


    • BS or MS in engineering required (mechanical, material science, electrical, industrial or similar)
    • A minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing Engineer experience.
    • General experience with medical device manufacturing preferred
    • Experience documenting DFM analysis.
    • Understands quality control processes including specifications, inspection, supplier control, production control and quality control processes
    • Experience in creating, coordinating and implementing engineering and business process changes.
    • Understands ERP and DataSweep or other electronic device history record system.
    • Preferred experience with Agile configuration product management software 


    Skill and Ability:


    • Strong PC skills required (MS word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Strong scientific approach to problem solving required (6 sigma, DOE etc)
    • Strong analytical abilities
    • Self-directed and accountable to achieving departmental objectives.
    • Ability to lift 40lbs without accommodations.
